I just think the Big Three and Rondo are a bad complement of each other at this stage in their careers.

All four of them are All-Star reserve level players in the right situation

Rondo needs some greyhounds that play hard on defense and finish at the rim. Denver Nuggets with George
Karl would be a good match.

It's the supporting cast that's more of the problem than any fit issues with them (though speed would be nice with Rondo).
