It won't be an easy win to get.

Would be easier IF Josh Smith was on OUR TEAM  ;)

I hope Rondo is interested in playing basketball tonight.

I wonder if Rondo looks at his statline after games and says, "well, I wasn't the problem." With the amount of shooters on this team, Rondo can get 12-15 assists in his sleep. He got 16 against Denver, 12 against Sacramento and 14 against Golden State. His rebound totals were 5, 3, 6 - all pretty solid for a point guard. I feel like Rondo might look at the numbers and justify his own performance based on those assist numbers.

Are you saying 12-15 assists isn't much of an accomplishment with this team?  That assists are inflating Rondo's sense of self-worth?

Of course he does and so do a lot of people on this board... I however know what I saw, Rondo hasn't been playing well and it at times seems like he doesn't care! People during chat always mentions his stats as if our eyes don't see him looking very average out there. He cam around at the end of the Denver game but was bad the rest of the game! Anytime someone doesn't think Rondo (based on stats alone) is a God out there, they get called a hater or w/e... all I know is, if Rondo gave more effort out there each game we would be a better team! Also, I don't know how he is seen as such a great defender b/c I wish K.G. was the type to write a tell-all book b/c Rondo continuously lets his man by only to try and fail (MOST) of the time to steal the ball from behind! Sure, he can defend great but how often do you see him really do it? People need to watch him more instead of his stat line b/c sometimes stats don't tell the whole story!!! End of rant!

WE WILL WIN!!!! Rondo will have a good game, he will actually put up effort from the start tonight! Rondo will have a line of 12pts/20asst/8rbs and 4 steals! PP will get us 35/7/7 2 steals!! KG will go 25/10/4asst/2blks and a steal!! Ray 24/3rbs/4asst 1 & 1/2 steals!!! Let's go!!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I'm just trying to come up with reasons he doesn't always get up for games, and it's possibly because he still puts up 12-15 assists even though he clearly isn't playing "well" compared to normal. It's hard to criticize a guy with those numbers from the point guard position, even though he sometimes needs it after lackluster efforts.

I love the optimism haha but your combined statline for the Big 4 is 96 points, 35 assists, 28 rebounds, 8 and a half steals and a couple blocks.

That's great from the big four, all we need is a couple from other players and we win by 30!!! Hahahahaha

Brandon Bass has to step up. He has been dreadful these past two games.

Jason Thompson and Kenneth Faried have combined for 31 rebounds in the past two games against the Celtics (many of which came against Bass) with Bass only collecting 3 rebounds of his own in the same time (1 against Sac, 2 against Den).

That is 3 rebounds in 60 minutes playing time. One every 20 minutes. Absolutely pathetic.

Man that number makes me cringe. Our rebounding is horrible, I dont get it, I really dont. Why is this team so bad on the boards? Do we have a "never box anyone out" philosophy?

I can understand not going after offensive rebounds, but as soon as the opponent jacks up a shot, everyone on our team should find their guys and box them out and get the rebound.

No basketball fan should understand the fact that our team doesn't get offensive glass. This team AS A WHOLE EACH GAME averages 8 offensive boards. Heck, those are just the ones that fall into our arms by dumb luck or get tipped out. Kevin Love walks onto a court after a back to back on one leg and pulls down 6-8 on the offensive glass. It's not like you are doing rocket science... Taj Gibson and joakim Noah aren't basketball innovators...it's the simple matter of making the effort to get position and grabbing the ball after it comes down. You don't have to be Dwight Howard to do it. Luis scola gets his fair share.

All it is with the Celtics is a lack of effort and a lack of focus on that area of the game. And it's unbelievably frustrating to the point of me hardly being able to watch games anymore. The easiet way to score dunks and layups is just abandoned by this team.

Well the offensive rebounds part is a piece of the defensive strategy. That has nothing to do with talent or effort, they just clearly have no interest in them. You can debate the merit of the strategy, but Doc's philosophy is that if you go after offensive boards and don't get them, then you're going to be out of position on defense and you'll give up easy points. If you send 2-3 guys at the rebound against Miami and you don't get it, then before you know it Lebron has the ball and he, Wade and Bosh have a fast break.

Running back on defense once a shot goes up is part of Doc's system to control the tempo, set up the defense and limit the opponent's offense. I'm not sure I always agree with it, but that's why that happens.

I understand that and you're right to post that but Chicago has a very defense oriented system like us (modelled off ours) and their bigs still kill it on the offensive glass, even against Miami. Miami is one of the best teams to do it against because they have no really good size on their team. In fact the teams that have beaten Miami this year have been the larger teams like Utah that have inside rebounding presence.

The second chance points you would get from the boards could go a long way to canceling out the potential fast break points you concede anyway.

If we're serious about moving up a position or 2 we've gotta find a way to win here.
