I would start playing Johnson regular minutes beginning tonight, start working him into my rotation.

I think that kid has the kind of toughness and drive to handle it - and flourish.

if I could get 20 energetic minutes a night out of him I'd be pretty happy.

Yeah, gotta give the young man some playing time now in case you have to rely on him for some minutes in the playoffs. Gotta get him comfortable within the team concepts on either end of the floor.

doc not playing rookies is a myth

to a point it makes sense HOWEVER we need to get the regular rotation guys set minutes, this means greg needs minutes, he's out performed jjj this season and needs to get 15 minutes or so a night because we really need him come playoff time

I'm confident jjj can go into any game any time and be good offensively, its the defense & rebounding that show he isn't ready to play at the beginning of season and playoffs he really isn't ready for prime time
i like him next year with some development under his belt (and muscle mass put on that frame)
if we are trying to get higher in playoff seeds then every  game counts, if c brass decide that getting everyone minutes / keeping everyone healthy and getting last seed then fine give jjj forced minutes but again he isn't showing help defense knowledge, man on physical defense but his rebounding is ok

maybe an idea is to give kg or bass a night off all together, this would leave us with one of those two then greg and jjj, best of all worlds give kg a night off or bass' knee a break and let the young ones get some time
?

Man, that is so true. But it's a shame, cuz we ain't winning nothing  this year anyway.

No game tonight.  Tomorrow at the Kings.  Which would be a nice time to give JJJ some min.

Doc's been going with a three man big rotation and playing KG way to many minutes for his own liking lately.  I'm not sure why he's decided to completely bury JJ on the bench right now.

It's time to throw JJ back into the fire and pick up any big, warm body who can help chew up some front court minutes as needed.

I guess the young guy who's been out there as our back up center over the course of the last dozen games or so must be a figment of my imagination.

yeah that was my point, steamer has been playing well and definitely outplayed jjj as a big this year, better to give him those extra minutes
get the refs to ease up on the rookie foul calls on greg, he can defend, get him into the flow of the offense more (his face up jumper is good)
if fouls come sure put jjj in, i don't want pp or mp as mini pf

With no Wilcox or JO, there is room for both JJ and Stiemsma in the rotation.  We should be playing a four man big rotation, not three.  That's what we've been doing all season before both Wilcox and O'Neal went down.

Oh no, he doesn't need 20 a night.  That's too many.  30 for Bass, 30 for KG, and split the remaining 36 however Doc sees fit between Johnson, Stiemsma, and whatever D-leaguer or other free agent that Danny picks up.
