If it's a trade for Okur's expiring or something, then Williams/Brooks/Wallace/Humphries/Lopez isn't half bad.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

Hopefully they play crash at the 4.

They could really use Ryan Andersen back. Humpty-hump doesn't make sense at the 4 in that lineup but Andersen would keep it classy.

pretty solid.. enough to compete in the EC - most likely 3-8 spots.

Given their lack of options at SF I think Wallace will still end up playing there a lot at least till next year.

Nets are close to sending Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams and a protected 1st round pick to Portland for Gerald Wallace, league sources tell Y!

I'm curious what protections are on the pick.

My guess is that they would phrase it along the lines: "If Deron Williams bails on us its top 30 protected for 10 years" if they could.

If the protections are weak then this could be a bonaza for the Blazers as I think Williams is gone to Dallas.

Because my bet is that they wouldn't have settled for our current picks, they'd have likely asked for a future pick that could be a lottery one.

I don't doubt Danny would offer up a pick in the 20s for Wallace, but he's been very protective of potential lottery pick in the future.

He doesn't want to be the Knicks/Minnesota and give up high picks that come back to bite the franchise down the line.

Me too.  If it's lottery protected (and they are willing/able to retain Wallace if he opts out), NJ will have a decent pitch for Deron: Wallace/Lopez/lottery pick plus decent support from guys like Brooks and Morrow.  Not a great situation, but not a huge dropoff from Dallas with aging Dirk/Marion.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

The pick is Houston's lottery-protected first-rounder, so if Rockets make playoffs, it's Portland's.

I'm pretty disappointed we didn't trump this, then.  We could have offered expiring contracts + our own pick for Wallace.  I would have done that deal, because Wallace is a perfect fit for our team.

Seriously,

KG
Wallace / Bass
Pierce
Ray
Rondo

I see that team as a second-tier contender.

Second year in a row that'd I'd have liked the C's to pursue Wallace too.

Could just be that Danny just doesn't like him as a player for the current team.

Trying to get pumped for whatever Miki Moore equivalent we get off the scrap heap.

Its starting to look that way.
