I don't think you should trade a first round pick (or Bradley) for McGee unless you are prepared to overpay in matching an offer sheet.  You don't have to be willing to match everything, but you should be willing to go at least $1-2m/year more than you think is appropriate.

Who do you think will overpay him? I wouldn't be shocked if in the end he ends up signing with whatever team he is on for the qualifying offer.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I was thinking about this...he's a Wizard now so no one is really paying attention to him. His team sucks. But if he comes to the Celtics and we start winning, and do great things in the playoffs, he becomes a hot commodity.

With that said, I don't know if there are teams have a hole at center that can afford to overpay him so he just might stay where ever he is.

If they hadn't traded for Bogut, I think that Golden State (the team that signed DeAndre Jordan to a huge offer sheet) would have tried.  Cleveland would have the cap space for it.  New Jersey, if they don't end up with Dwight Howard.  New Orleans, if they are able to dump Okafor and get a new owner who wants to make a splash.  Sacramento?

There's probably at least one team out there which is dumb enough to think of McGee as a potential franchise player to build a team around.

I saw Golden State as the most likely to overpay him but since they signed Bogut I doubt they will even show any interest in him. Philly could make a run at him if they prefer him to Hawes (unlikely). Dallas could go after him. So could Houston. Portland or Phoenix could too.

Of that list I only see Houston or Dallas as a threat.

I have too much respect for the intelligence of Houston or Dallas to think they would be serious bidders for JaVale McGee.

LOL...you're acting like JaVale is Kwame Brown or something. Dude had 21 and 18 against the Spurs the other night. He's far from a scrub. His basketball IQ is just low.

That's what McGee feels like to me. We're a bit of a car-wreck right now, and McGee, I think, is not the solution. He's known as a stat-padder even amongst Wiz fans. I think trading for him would only make matters worse.

Who are the greatest low BBIQ players of the past two decades?

McGee C'Mon Down!!!  ;D would love him on the C's. I absolutely have no desire for any draft picks as coach Doc won't play them anyhow. I rather us trade them. McGee is a good short term & very good long-term solution. Kaman I love but he's very short term an injury prone. Anyhow I'll whichever one that we could get.

Funny you should say this...I was going to make a thread asking why everyone is so concerned with draft picks when they won't be a factor anyway. Doc will never play them outside of garbage time.

"@SpearsNBAYahoo: Wizards actively trying to trade C Javale McGee, but one GM said, "they are asking for the world," sources say."

I bet Danny asked then were asked for too much
