Im sure its pure speculation, however, reports this morning say that Melo has told a source he wants out of New York.

Like I said, probably the Post just blowing steam in the NY media, but if true, Ive certainly lost a lot of respect for Melo. I mean what a drama queen. You make all that big fuss all last season about wanting to be in NY, spend hardly any time there and then want out again? I hope the Knicks trade him and send him somewhere he doesnt want to be. Ive always liked Melo, but at least put some effort in to winning, especially when you demanded to be in a big market by yourself.

Again, if true, would the Knicks make a Melo Chandler for Howard filler trade? or Melo to Atlanta for a Josh Smith?

The Knicks would need a swingman scorer as a replacement. Id like to see a Melo for Felton, Gerald Wallace, Crawford deal go down. Makes both teams better.

As long as he's not in Boston I'm happy.

Fat, overrated, cancerous presence for a basketball team to handle.

I don't care if he can shoot 45%... So can a lot of others.

Melo is a crybaby.  Just look at the way he throws little fits on the court.  I wouldn't be surprised if he said it.  But I'm sure he will change his mind when he has time to cool down.  He's always said he loves living and playing in NYC.

BTW - I'm sure he's taking a ton of heat for the team falling apart after his return; and with the NYC media to boot.

Carmelo Anthony is exactly the sort of "star" I would never want to see on the Celtics, a high-usage wing who is not a good three-point shooter and who is not a good defender, whether because he doesn't put forth effort or because he is just bad at defense.  I don't really want to see a bench player who fits that description, either.

He's Pierce 10 yrs ago... They were saying the same things about Paul after the World Champs in Indy... Would give up almost any combo of guys on our roster for him. He's easily the #1 scorer on a title team... There's only a few of those around. He's acting like a brat now for sure. But surrounded by the right supporting cast, you could win a title with this guy as your go to crunch time scorer. It took Pierce teaming up with KG to get him to the next level. Carmelo needs his KG....

Don't blame Melo if this is true. I'd be disgusted with the franchise right now, too.  With my coach for misusing me, with my GM for not firing him in the offseason like he should have... and with New York fans for modifying their Melo jerseys by taping over "Anthony" with "Lin" and adding a 1 to "7" to create Lin's #17... Also be disgusted with my fans for blasting radio stations that "Melo should be traded.  He's a cancer.  We have Lin now" ... after all I did to manipulate my way there and save your garbage LeBron-less franchise, this is how you repay me??...  

Melo is the savior of that franchise and they are treating him like he's some kind of bum... all because a d-leaguer had an improbable 11 game stretch in a lockout-shortened-season that made him look like a poor man's Raymond Felton (who averaged 17 points, 9 assists and 1.8 steals last year in D'Antoni's system and lead the Knicks through a 14 game stretch where they won 13 games... including 8 in a row... all the while averaging 20+ points, 10+ assists, 4+ rebounds, 2.5 steals, 46% shooting.  Why you no remember Feltonsanity, Knicks fans?)

And btw, I don't mean to suggest Melo is jealous of Lin or can't play with him.  From what I hear, Lin and him get along.  I'd more just be disgruntled with how the media and fans are treating me, if I were him.  Thankless bunch of dillweeds.

Offer them Pierce and both 1st rounders.  It'd be a coup.
