i would say no,

some ppl here think the perkins trade was horrible, but if I was ainge and presti called me offering perkins for jermaine o'neal and the clippers number one pick I'll decline

We already have steamer. Perkins would be a slight upgrade on defense and nothing else, not worth a first round pick imo, specially his contract.

Interesting idea (question).

I'm not sure. Perkins has been pretty bad this year and you would be tying up money in a role player long term.

Haven't people been talking about getting your stars first?

Only thing is I am so down on the draft. I just don't have much faith in our late 1st round picks amounting to much. Rondo is the exception

No. The Celtics need way more offense out of the center position if they're going to be building the future Boston Celtics around Rajon Rondo. Perkins can't provide the spacing that will be needed to make up for Rajon's lack of range... especially once Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and KG are gone.

Perk simply isn't that good.  If danny is serious about building a running team perks rebounding, offensive game and running abilities are definitely not what we need.  Like him but his $$ just doesn't make sense.

Not everything , but much of what is wrong with the Celtics is do to Perkins not being in the lineup. That and missing Jo and Green.

No bridges burned.  He might come back if the right opportunity was presented.

a first rounder in a loaded 2012 draft for the ghost of perk and a contract that would burden us for a couple of years? a big NOOOOOO!!!!

it would kill our cap space-the only real chance we have of rebuilding.

Great idea! Spend 9 million a year on a guy who can't hit a shot and has been a waste since he went down in 2010. Sign me up! Leon Powe is also available too, lets grab him too!

The Clippers pick at this point is worth more, I'd pass.
