Hell no!

I don't want that contract mucking up the rebuilding process.

If Perk was on a one year deal, I'd do it.

Reading this thread, one would think that OKC is 9-32 with Perk dragging his corpse up and down the court for them as their starting center.

That's right, Perk has very little to do with the Thunder's success, although their a way better defensive team since they acquired him.

There's a good chance Perk continues his horrible play to the NBA Finals with his uber talented teammates that he has very little in common with, especially when evaluating why this team is one of the best three teams in the league.

No chance whatsoever.

$10 million for 4 points and 5 boards a game is absurd.

Longley was the starting center on a 72 win team, guess that record reflects his personal level of play

The thunder would be wise do such a deal, they have alrich wanting in the wings plus there gonna have a hard time paying Ibaka and Harden in a few years, However if I were ainge I'll reject it

Were the Bulls a middling defensive team before acquiring Longley, and then suddenly became a better defensive team.  Were they a wimpy squad that all of a sudden became a lot tougher?

Those who refuse to give Perk ANY credit for the way the Thunder have gelled are unbelievable.

Maybe the Thunder's fortunes were changed by jettisoning Krstic and Green, and Perk has nothing to do with it, even though almost all the basketball world except for a few delusional Celtics fans recognize what Perk has done for that franchise.

he changed their mentality sure, and the trade moved ibaka to pf which is his natural position. but their success has little to do with perk. it has more to do with westbrook's performance along with durant and harden.

his liabilites on offense is masked by durant/westbrook/durant's shotmaking and his lack of lift on the defensive end is made up for by ibaka's shotblocking.

does he fit, yeah sure. but hardly the vital cog you are making him out to be. sorry but in no way im paying 9m for 4 boards 5 reb for a couple of years.

Of course any able bodied center would look good in celtics fans eyes because of all the injuries on our big man.

I didn't realize the Thunder were such a poor team before the Perk trade

seems like the thunder increase their winning margin when perk takes a seat. Must be great to be able to infuse that winning toughness when your seated

no, perkins contract/statline is horrible for a team about to enter a rebuilding process...

he fits perfectly on the Thunder(or on the Celtics previously for that matter) because he is a roleplayer and it doesnt matter that he is offensively inept

we can likely get Fab Melo around the 20-25 range. I would MUCH rather have him on a rookie contract than Perk for the next 3 years. So hell no, Perk doesn't put us over the top this year and eats a good chunk of cap space for the next 3 years.

Actually, it's quite clear what he's done for that franchise.

4 points, 5 rebounds, $9 large.

America. What a country.

Fact is, the deal last year was one of those really rare ones: It didn't do squat for either team.

Is everyone forgetting our starting five with Perk has never lost a playoff series?  We'd be a lock for number 18.

LOL  ;)
