There's noise that Denver wants to move Chris Andersen (2 more years at around $4.5m per.  He's not getting a ton of minutes out there, with Nene, Mozgoy, Koufos and Faried all getting minutes in front of him.

The Cs have a nice expiring contract in Jermaine O'Neal.  I've always liked Birdman's energy, and although he isn't a widebody, he has some paint presence.  He's grabbing 5 rebounds a game in only 15 minutes.

The Cs really need someone to shore up their interior basket defense and rebounding.  Birdman might be a cheap band aid.  If Kamen gets bought out and wanted to sign here, that would be preferable, but Kamen's friendship with Dirk could send him there to help the mavs defend their title.

This Andersen deal gets a guy off Denver's books that isn't in their plans, and doesn't clog Boston's cap too much this summer.  i think it would be a move that could help the Big 4 be more difficult a playoff out for the top EC teams.

I like Birdman's energy. I dont want to pay him 4.5 mil next year though.

Don't worry about the money.  The Celtics will pick up the tab. ;D

Seriously though, I'd rather get a center.  We already have Wilcox who is playing great.
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

A move for Andersen was something to do 3 years ago, not today.

That contract's a little ugly in our situation and Denver has little reason to sweeten the pot if all we're offering is JO.

I do like Birdman on this team though.  Not the post defender JO is, but a better all-around contributor at this point with his energy and athleticism.
