This is and has always been a game about team balance and chemistry, (when it comes to winning consistently, and please don't misread this into my saying that's what we're doing at the moment, cuz we're not), not how many superstars or near-perfect-for-the-position players you can stack your team with.
Ray is an incredibly positive influence not only on the court and with his work-ethic, but in the locker-room and outside as a mentor. He is also one of the best three-point shooters in the game, one of the best from the stripe, (especially in clutch situations), that has ever played the game, an under-rated defender, and one of the best, most active guys off the ball today, who makes opponents work their hineys off, (despite his age).
He's in excellent physical shape, rarely has a negative thing to say about anyone or anything, and just plain adds class, hard-work, intensity, and a striving for perfection to any team he's on. He certainly has his flaws, as all players do, but this guy is gold in the hand, and you don't get rid of someone like him for a roll-of-the-dice. There are many more expendable players on this team ... I hope it doesn't come down to that choice.
