If Curry was healthy, maybe. But he seems way too fragile to trade for.

taking back damaged goods is probably the only way the Celtics get back a potential star for Rondo -- seeing as he's reportedly seen as damaged goods himself (or else the Celtics wouldn't be shopping him so hard).

If the Celts haven't pulled the trigger on Rondo for Gasol it's pretty unlikely that they're shopping him hard.

That's because it's only began bet as the deadline approaches he will be shopped hard.....

we really dont know for sure if he will...Broussards article is a whole lot of nothing..

danny will shop EVERYONE at the deadline...and if he doesnt get a deal he likes..he wont make a trade. Danny IMO isnt doing trades just to make trades..

FACT is that they are shopping Rondo.  Maybe not necessarily for Curry - the article was written kind of weird - not sure if Golden State or if we would do it??? What kind of reporting is that?  ACTUALLY - I think is was an article planted to establish a value for Rondo and show that there are other suitors for Rondo besides Lakers/Gasol.

Danny is just getting other GM's to step up to the plate with their best offers.  Rondo will be a great fit somewhere.  He has learned a hell of a lot and become a first class pure point.  He just needs to go somewhere else to display his brilliance and start over.

150% on board with moving Rondo, but as Roy says, there's not enough alcohol in California to get them to move Curry for Rondo.

Can you imagine the attitude he'd have on a losing team? He might never show up to play.

Despite all of the reports to the contrary, right?

I doubt Gasol for Rondo has actually been on the table as something Danny could "pull the trigger" on anyway.  It may have been discussed, but if the Lakers are going to trade Gasol, I'm sure they'll wait to see what happens with Dwight.

I guess we'll see. You keep talking about how the Celts are shopping Rondo hard, and that he doesn't have a lot of value around the league. If they do unload him and don't get a lot back, I guess you're right.

He hasn't been traded yet because few teams want him (for the same reasons the C's don't want him.

Not sure if the Gasol rumors are legitimate, but I think the Dwight Howard situation is holding up anything with Gasol for now.  Once the DH12 situation plays out, I expect the dominos to fall.  LAL has to keep Gasol in case he's needed for a Howard package.

That's probably as good a reason as anyone elses.

I think it's more like that they don't trade him because despite the shopping they aren't going to find a deal that's palatable.  He's worth more on our team than he is in a trade, because other teams view him as damaged goods.

If we try to trade Rajon, other teams will assume it's because of attitude issues or a desire not to build around him, which means other teams will low-ball us.

You and I can speculate all we want about Rondo's value around the league, but it would be complete guesses on both our parts. But after 5-6 years if there's one person who pretty much knows Rondo's value it's Danny. If he's "shopping Rondo hard" and knows about what he'll get in low-ball offers he'll probably take one. If he's holding out for a trade that's much better than you think he'll be offered then he's not shopping him hard.

This is exactly the reason we are trying to move him.  He's clashed with coaches and the big three for years.  They put up with him because of his talent and he was needed to form a competitive team.  Now that our window is closed, nobody wants to put up with that anymore. BUT another contender would if they think he's their missing piece.
