Click the link below because trade exceptions are used. Also Milwaukee and Minnesota each get a pick from Boston.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7b863l4

Celts get Gasol

Lakers get Beasley, Ilyasova, S Jack, Udrih, and Ray Allen

Milwaukee gets Jermaine expiring, Clippers Pick, and Luke Walton

Minnesota gets Celtic's first round pick

Why for Boston? Easy We get Pau Gasol for Ray Allen, JO, and 2 first round picks basically.

Why for LA? They get a solid pg in Udrih. Two young and good PFs with potential in Ilyasova and Beasley. The best shooter in the game in Ray Allen. They also get a tough and gritty SF who is better then any SF they have in Jackson. They become very deep and more versatile.

Why for Milwaukee? They get a pick. They get rid of Jackson who has been a headache all year. They also get some cap space when JO expires. Also Ilyasova will be looking to get paid this year and they already paid MBah a mote, so they could use the pick on his replacement if they wanted. Obviously that guy would be on a rookie deal.

Why for Minnesota? They get a first round pick and don't take on any salary. More minutes for Williams so he develops. Also they only gave up a 2nd rounder to get Beasley so it's good to move him for a first.

The only team I could see people seeing not doing this is LA. Yet, look at their lineup after the trade. They are much deeper and don't have to worry about Gasol's feelings anymore.

Starters: Udrih, Kobe, S Jack, Beasley, Bynum
Bench: Fisher/Blake, Ray Allen, Artest, Ilyasova, Murphy/McRoberts

Thoughts?

That trade makes LA a favorite to win it all & it leaves us without a 2 gaurd. Pietrus is made for the bench! Unless we go get the D-League scorer of the year in Gerald Green & I will like it more. He could replace Ray's 3 point shooting.

Wouldnt this put LA over the max players
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Guys like Groudleck, Ebanks, and Morris would have to be waived or could be sent to Milwaukee or Boston in the trade. They're all minimum salary players making less then $800K on 1 year deals.

Maybe we make them throw in Matt Barnes for us if the salaries will still work...

I am not sure they would be the favorites to win it all. I think maybe in the West on Paper they are the favorites. I still think us or Miami could beat them. I mean Miami is playing well. Gasol, Kg, and Pierce is a great front court and we would still have Bass off the bench. We would miss Ray but Pietrus could play the SG spot fine in my opinion.

What's the point of this? It doesn't put you into contention this year, so you're trading away a draft pick for what, exactly?

I like this trade for the Celtics and Lakers but Milwaukee really gets hosed here.

They're basically giving up three decent players for Jermaine O'Neal, Luke Walton and a draft pick? Better slip something in the Bucks GM's coffee before you propose this to him.

Also, I don't think Minny goes for this either. They've got a competitive team this season. I doubt they give away Beaseley for a draft pick.

I don't see how this would make the Lakers anything but worse, let alone the favorites to win the title. Udrih sucks, Beasley is a headcase, they already have a SG and I doubt Ilyasova makes up for Gasol. LA would be giving up a star player for a collection of backups.

2 of the 4 teams would never make the trade.  The Lakers pick up almost 12 million dollars in additional salary which since they are over the cap they'd pay double on the luxury tax (which means 24 million).  Keep in mind they traded Odom to get his salary off their books. Not to mention that everyone (ie reporters that follow the team as well as national guys) are saying for them to trade Pau they want either a superstar or 2 very good younger players...

It is terrible trade for Milwaukee, they add Walton's terible contract as well as O'Neil for Jackson, and 2 other pretty good palyers?  Come on now...  Jackson as well as the other 2 have value and value and you traded them nothing.  For T-Wolves it's OK.

There is no way Boston gets Pau for that little BTW.  That's wishful thinking...

MINNY and Milwauk get screwed here.

The Bucks probably do this to dump Jackson and Udrih if they weren't taking Luke Walton back.

No way the Lakers trade Gasol for a bunch of overpaid ageing role-players, Beasley and Ilyasova. And why would they need so many redundant players?

Wouldnt Give away Ray Allen and 2 first round picks for Gasol only. This years draft is going to be awesome and the level of talent is fairly high. First round picks is looking more like the way to go.

If anything i say a Ray Allen deal + others to Utah for someone like Favours/AJ. In all Honesty Utah have 4 big men that i would like to see at boston. I belive at least one of them will be traded at the deadline this year.

Utah is going nowhere this year. Why would they hand us a big man for Ray Allen?

How? They get picks for pieces that aren't in their long term future?
