It has been done before in the NFL with Eli Manning and John Elway. I was curious if it has ever been done in the NBA? Nothing comes to mind .

But why couldn't he if he really wanted to play here? I know people say he wouldn't want to play for his father, but I think the lure of trying to lead the c's back to contender status would be something he would embrace. I mean the kid was at a lot of playoff games in Boston over the years and felt what it was like the night the c's won it all in 2008 .

It's not like he comes from a poor family, his father is a multimillionaire so he could threaten to hold out .

The c's would have to do a S+t though so what would you give up for him?

would you trade Rondo for Rivers and filler?  :o

is all of this even possible ?

Kobe kind of did this. He made it known loud and clear he only wanted to go one place and Charlotte obliged. Teams passed him up cause they knew he would not sign.

What if the c's didn't have to give up Rondo but give up both 1st rd picks this year, avery Bradley,Bass or JJ and a future pick for Rivers and filler ?

Could you even imagine both Rondo and Rivers running the fast break together?  :o  but then again there is a lot of Potential there for major drama between Rondo and Austin, but it would be well worth the risk IMO

Yes both need the ball in their hands, but there would be plenty of possesions in a fast break up tempo play, a lot more than this year .

PG: Rondo       / Vet
SG: Rivers      / Ray
SF: PP          / Jeff Green or Pietrus
PF: KG          / Bass or JJJ
 C: D12 or McGee/ Wilcox

I know I know it's not happening  ;)

yea after he leads Duke to the NCAA Championship this year he is going to skyrocket up into the top 5 picks by draft day  :P

Wish the c's would just tank to get into the top 10

same here.  Might as well just tank for the top pick.  Anthony Davis supposedly has no weaknesses.

Strength, consistent range, refined offensive game in general... I'd list all of these as weaknesses right now.

Think of him as a smarter JaVale McGee.  That in itself is a scary thought, but he does have some improvements to make.  I think he'll get there, though... Supposedly a very intelligent kid with a great motor.

Not necessarily.  A smarter JaVale McGee could still be an idiot.

Ricky Rubio tried to dissuade Minnesota from drafting him.  See how that worked out?  Anyways, do you want a player on your team with a Baby Melo attitude who will try to force a trade like that?

If he continues to play like he has been playing recently he will float around the 13-20 mark imo. Draft express have him at 18 atm and the C's taking kendall Marshall at 17, but in all honesty if we keep rondo, bradley and Moore at the end of this year, what is the point of us drafting another PG. So there is a possibility that he could play.

However, From the games iv seen (Only get games on ESPN here is AUS) I reckon he would really benefit from another year in College under Coach K. His iso play is amazing and he can pretty much beat alot of his opposition with his first step alone. However, I think he has bought into his own hype a little (exciting player dont get me wrong). With one more year I reckon he will improve his ability to play at an NBA level defence and also move the ball more effectivly and lower his TO rate.

If he is there when the pick comes around I would take him to replace Ray or our current 2G after a year (unless its someone like Gordon). However if we could, id like to get someone like Meyers Leonard if he is available. Last thing Utah need is another C unless they plan on hoarding them like Min hoard PG's.

Rivers is a combo guard and can play either spot.  While it sounds nice to unite son and father let's try taking the best player available.  If it is Austin, great, if not take whomever is best when we pick.

This is basketball not the Brady Bunch.

Steve Francis got out of canada so it could happen,

Likely senerio would be that Austin doesnt work out for anyone. The Cs use picks and avery to trade up into the 9-12 range and grab austin.

Having watched 5 or six of his games this year I feel very confident he will be a stud in the NBA. Has the 1 vs 1 game you need to score in the nba and can move without the ball. He is an above average athlete. In the 80s and 90s nba he would be small for a SG but in todays game he will have average size.

Why would you want to do that to Doc?

Yes he could, but if I was 19 I'd want to force a trade to get as far away from my father as possible. San Francisco is looking nice all of a sudden. Do they have a team in Hawaii yet? Japan?
