Top five SF's don't get left off the 22nd choosen team's pick 2 list.
Hmmm top 5 SFs, well going by Tier:

LBJ

-------
Durant

------
Iggy, Pierce, Melo
------
Gallanari, Batum, Gay, Granger

I guess you could argue for top 6, but even that's a stretch in my book.

When nick talks about Luol Deng being one of the most underrated players in the NBA, the above is what he's talking about.  The dude destroyed the Celtics last night, and he doesn't even make top-9 on a Celtics blog.

Deng is better than Iggy, Pierce, Granger, Gallinari, Batum, and Gay by a wide margin.

He's better than Batum by a wide margin. The rest of that list, no. He's better than some of them some of the time, he's better than some of them all of the time, but 'by a wide margin'?

I agree, it's criminal that Deng got left off that list (or that Batum ended up on it).

Also Granger is apparently coasting on rep around here, because he's playing terribly, when he's playing at all.

Dude got destroyed by Pierce last time they played a whole 5 days ago.

The Sacramento Kings select

Linas Kleiza

I'm not a big fan of old Linas since his Nuggets days, but at least you went and got yourself a true SF.

Yeah he'd round out the top 10, right on the bottom tier with Batum, Gay, Granger, Gallo.

He's averaged double digits in points with Toronto the last two years, and as you said, I needed a true SF. Not many other options like that left, so I put some faith in him.
St. Louis Bombers (formerly Sacremento Kings)

SG-Nick Young/Rudy Fernandez
SF-Linas Kleiza/MarShon Brooks

And Pierce got destroyed by Deng last night.

Right now, Deng is like the better defending, better rebounding version of Pierce.

No way is that even close to true.

Ah so whomever played a good game most recently is the better player?

Deng is a less efficient scorer and overall a passive player who doesn't bring the playmaking Pierce does.

Looking at Granger's numbers, they've been hurt by a small sample size with 4-5 terrible games thrown in. on the plus side, even when he's struggling from the field, he's getting to the line.

Myself I rank him ahead of Batum, Granger this year, and Gallo. But behind Pierce, Anthony and Iguodala - probably in that order.

Deng is a less efficient scorer and overall a passive player who doesn't bring the playmaking Pierce does.

I'm going to have to agree with this and also brand Roy a traitor to the cause if he continues to argue otherwise. Pierce is underrated enough as it is.
