Yes, Luol Deng is terribly underrated.

And yes, he is a Cleveland Cav.

And yes, he is probably just the third best player on the Cavs.

I agree with everything you just said.  That's a dynamo top 3.

Phoenix trades: Steve Nash, Marcin Gortat, Danny Granger

Miami trades: Lebron James, Darren Collison, 4.27

I'm just catching up. Great trade for Phoenix.

I'd like Miami's end of the deal more if Granger wasn't shooting a miserable, career-low 38.5% on over 15 shots a game.

Shame there wasn't a way to pair Nash with Lebron on one team or the other. That's the pairing I would've loved to see.

Otherwise, a lot of nice picks this round, including virtually every guy I was looking at for 5.6 - Bass, Hayward, Courtney Lee, Brewer, Fields, Nick Collison, and Kemba Walker (who at 4.28 is great value).

Question: Does Wade's need for the ball negate Nash's ability to create and be the floor general he is so great at being?

Because if wade has the ball 50% of the time, like he does with Lebron, that relegates Nash to three point shooting to space the floor and defense. One of those things he can do, the other he can't.

That's why the Wade/Lebron kinda works. Because as they share the basketball and one or the other take control, the other can still J and get back and play defense like mad.
Absolutely -- there is definitely a level of diminishing returns from Nash and Wade.

There is only one basketball and both need a large amount of time on the ball to fully utilize their talents. They won't be able to get that.

Granger has to be fed too. Not time on the ball (he is a 1-2 dribble player) but shot attempts. Between Nash and Granger, I don't see Wade's role being any larger offensively than it was last year with LeBron. And Nash will have to accept a smaller role than he has had in Phoenix in order to make it work.

And what's great about Wade and Nash is that they're both the type of personalities to make those sacrifices to win.

I'm OK with Granger having a case of the Lock-Out  legs because he's been hustling on the boards more this season. The shots will come back, especially with Nash finding him.

Anyways, I got tired of building teams that play good defense, move the ball on offense and are pretty good in the locker-room.

I wanted to try the Isiah Thomas approach.

If the ball is shared, good.

If the ball is being stopped by a single player all the time, bad.

You know Carmelo did an interview the other day and he really resents the notion that he is a selfish player.

At the end of the interview they asked him which player on the Knicks takes the final shot of a tie game, he said, "Me, definitely Me"
