2012 'Pick Two' Draft Board

Anyway, New Orleans selects Brendan Haywood. 

I thought Orlando should have picked Haywood in the last round.

They are leaving it a bit late to fill that center spot.

I was pleased to be able to take a starter-quality center this late in the draft.  Now I need a defensive 4 off the bench who can chase people around the perimeter.

I was torn between Kanter and Haywood last round.

I'm not getting the Haywood love and didn't get it when he left college(search his name in posts I made and you will see). he was a great college shooter but I never thought he would have the athleticism to get that shot off at the pro level.

Sure in very limited minutes last year taking limited shots he did well but this year, in a much more advanced role with teams game planning him as a starter, he's struggling massively. Also, he really isn't that good a defender.

I really thought he would be available in the late 5th early 6th.

On the upside, I gotta admit, the kid can pass the rock.

Yeah, he's gone from possible all-star and 6th man of the year to a microwave/shooting specialist off the bench in Detroit. I think a change of scenery would serve him well, but even at his worst he's a valuable asset.
