Dallas Mavs, Jason Terry, Dirk
mgent gets a steal of a team that late.
There's one just as good, albeit unproven.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Although last year's Finals MVP shouldn't even be an All Star reserve this season.
Blasphemy.

I was looking at Dallas, I just couldn't make up my mind on who to take with Dirk. I think Terry was the best choice.

What's your argument? Lowest point per game average (17.2) and 3PT% (.216) since his rookie year. Just 6 rebounds per game, his lowest average since his sophomore year and a PER of 18.8.

Even he realizes it.

Condensed season + less effective supporting cast + rebuilding year = poor performance from Dirk.

Not quite sure how I feel about this pick. Dirk and JET are 33 and 34 respectively and are clearly on or nearing the downside of their careers. However, I am anxious to see where this team goes from here and who is chosen to compliment these aging veterans.

You should've taken Vince.

+ Plus playing your way in to shape vs. Pau Gasol, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love and Lamarcus Aldridge, not to mention Millsap. Finals MVP to sixth best power forward in the West.

If this was a competitive draft, this is the team I would have taken earlier.

Get the feeling that he might've not put the full effort in over the summer.

Same feeling from me. A couple of good building blocks with some age to them. For my tastes I would have probably chose one or two others before Dallas but I can certainly see them being chosen here and I think you made the right player choices.

So WW, if somebody traded Dirk at the trade deadline last year of a keeper fantasy basketball league and said they wanted to get rid of him before his decline, would they be vindicated at this point?

Absolutely! As long as they didn't throw in Paul Pierce who after a slow start is going berserk, returning top 10 value - 22.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.2 steals over his last 10.

For sure. The West is brutal, and right now there are clearly four PF's outplaying him with ease that he has to face on a nightly basis.
