Ohhhhhh. I didn't know that. I believe ESPN didn't mean it that way though I guess.

I'm dumbfounded by the number of people who want to chalk this up to coincidence.

Agreed. I think I can recall the use of the phrase "chink in the armor" twice in the past 10 years as a Sports Headline. Both times referenced Asian people.

I'm not even sure it'd be any better to me if an editor was just oblivious to this. Either the people responsible were making a racial slur and deserved to be fired, or the people responsible are incredibly incompetent at their jobs and deserve to be fired.

I have never seen anything like the Lin experience, and I'm barely even paying attention

A different comparison hot-streak wise -- Marquis Daniels

Quote
The Mavericks had one in the 2003-04 season when Marquis Daniels, then an undrafted rookie, hit a hot streak late in the season.

He was inserted into the starting lineup for the last 12 games and averaged 20.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. That's not as gaudy as Lin, who is averaging 25 points, 9.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds in his first nine games as the Knicks' lead point guard (eight starts).

I'm not a christian but his testimony really moved me. Jeremy is an inspiration.

Realistically if Jeremy Lin were on the Celts it wouldn't matter cause Doc would give him about a minute and a half of pt every game.

Avery Bradley, JJJ, Steams, and Moore could all be the next Lin, but we'll never know.

  • Rondo = Good

Avery would play over Lin because he's a better defender and he's been here longer.

Tommy has been here even longer than Doc. Let Tommy coach. Everything should be based on super seniority when Doc is coach.

Guess what, Lin didn't play for any coach until there was no other choice. The difference is that when Lin finally played he started playing like a star from his first start. Bradley and Moore have both played with Rondo out and they look nothing like Lin.

The C's young players are not nearly as good as Lin (I know that is hard for Celtic fans to accept).

Lockout was a blessing for Jeremy Lin. He put in a lot of time on that jump shot. Its like night and day from where he was last season.

Pretty ugly, yeah.  Or very ugly I guess.  Still, it happens; even star players have rotten games occasionally, so I wouldn't read too much into this one performance.

It's not Jeremy Lin, it's the media.  I'm just so sick of what they've done with him that I want him to fail.  i have nothing against him personally, I'm just so sick of seeing him everywhere.

I admit it seems like my options are this guy fails (I don't want that) or he continues to succeed and they keep talking about him like I really need to know about this guy and he's the coolest thing since playstation 2 ( I KNOW! SHUT UP ALREADY! I reeeeaallllyy don't want that)
