I'm still not buying the hype. I've watched too much basketball to get caught up in this. He's on fire right now. I've seen it before. There was like a two month stretch in 05-06 (Dec-Jan) when Delonte West shot like 53% and 50% from three... It was tough not to believe he was one of the best pure shooters alive at that point... http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/2422/year/2006/delonte-west
That was like a 20 game stretch for West. It's been 5 games for Lin. It's been a fun ride. Jacking up 20 shots a night and turning the ball over 8 times a night... we'll see what happens. I give him 11 games.
what you havent seen is a guy that was not drafted, in the dleague last year, and was cut by two teams this season before it started...do it.
will he keep it up, i highly doubt it. he will come down to earth im sure, especially since melo will be returning and jacking shots up.
it is enjoyable to see an underdog do what he is doing. you can believe what you want, but after seeing your racially insensitive posts the other day (that were removed), then attempting to justify them by saying your asian girlfriend approves (like that even matters), your motives are easy to see.
First... you just backed up my point by pointing out that he was undrafted and cut by two teams. Highly unlikely this is anything other than an extended fluke.
Second, lol. Not everyone understands internet memes... I didn't argue with the posts being deleted, but I'm not going to apologize for them. But since you bring it up out of context to paint me in the poor light, I feel obligated to point I out I merely linked to a few "High Expectations Asian Father" memes:
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/high-expectations-asian-father ... Half my facebook friends are Asian American and they have been posting this crap for the past week in reference to Lin. None of these memes are intended to make Lin look bad. If anything, they are a celebration in Asian American culture and shoehorning Jeremy Lin into a popular internet trend. If that's "Racially Insensitive" then "Scumbag Steve" (
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/scumbag-steve ) is "racially insensitive" to idiots from Boston. Also... from my girlfriend, "Funny that these presumably white people are telling me what is racially insensitive about my culture"... she's Japanese American. She wears "angry little girls" shirts all the time:

Her mother is actually like this... never impressed with anything she does. She wins awards for her cake decorating and her mother literally tells her, "Why aren't you going to medical school?"... It's one of those things, "it's funny, because it's true"... a lot of folks can relate to it. The way my girlfriend describes it, "Most Asian parents do not praise their children. It's against their culture. As a parent you are supposed to keep your child motivated and push them to succeed. They think that if they pat their child on the back and congratulate them, it will make them weak and they will stop trying. I've been trying my entire life to get my mother to acknowledge anything positive I've done. Those Lin jokes aren't racist... they are funny". So you can see why "38 points Jeremy? Why you no score 100?" falls in line with that humor. Don't worry about it, broham. I just don't think you get it (or maybe you do... you have Bruce Lee as your avatar). The same reason those jokes are popular with Asian Americans is the same reason why so many Asian Americans can relate to Jeremy Lin. He grew up in Cali, went to Harvard and now plays in the NBA. As a couple of my friends on Facebook were saying, "Lin is like family". They could never really relate to Yao, but they see themselves in Lin. I do understand why the post was deleted though... easier to remove it than to explain the asian american humor to overly militant politically correct white people.
And for the record, I'd love for Lin to succeed... it would be one less place for Deron Williams to sign with in the offseason... which opens up the window for us to dump Pierce and Ray for draft picks/young cheap talent, free up enough cap room to make a run at both Deron AND Dwight... and trade Rondo to the highest bidder. It would be a good thing.
