8-24 with 6 turnovers... that's how it starts, folks.

Reminds me of my glory days battling rookie Brandon Jennings bandwagon fans who were hyping him as the next Iverson.  Some good old fashioned back-and-forth banter, gentlemen.

I was right in the thick of it... with Jennings having scored
17 points, 32 points, 55 points, 25 points, 19 points, 29 points, 26 points... 7 games and shooting around 50% through them...

Next game:  6-21 shooting with 5 turnovers.  Rut Roh...

Game after that:  4-15 with 5 turnovers.  RUT ROH!!!!

7 games in a row shooting under 40%.  The wheels came off.  He inevitably was told to stop chucking so many shots... Finished the season shooting a predictable 37%.

This is how it starts....

can't see past the jealously

At least he spreads the love to Non-Celtic players, too.

Wow.

12 points in the 4th quarter, including back to back 3 point plays, hitting the game-winner with .5 left.  27 pts, 11 assts.  Yeah, he had 8 TO's but the kid is a fighter.  LOVE watching him play...

Another ho hum all star performance by Lin.  But wait, it was against the Raptors, so we can't count it. Darn.

  • Rondo = Good
A little wet blanket on the latest Lin performance --

a) it was against the Raptors
b) he had 8 turnovers
c) frankly, he was outplayed by Jose Calderon

I didn't know Lin had 2 college rings and a John Wooden award. How'd we miss this guy?

Ainge drafted for need and used his late second-round pick on the player most likely to help with rebounding if he can crack the rotation, rather than the unathletic tweener guard who seemed physically unable to play shooting guard.  With Nate Robinson on the roster and Bradley being drafted, many on this forum would be complaining if Ainge had taken yet another undersized combo guard instead of gambling on a big man.

Lin is no combo guard. He is a prototype point guard, with great court vision and quick decision making. He actually has the perfect body type to play PG, at 6'3", wiry.

I thought this was pretty funny. Evidently, you can add New York to the list of teams who had no idea about Lin . . . even when he was on the Knicks roster.

http://www.torontosun.com/2012/02/13/jeremy-lin-was-almost-a-raptor

Quote
Earlier this NBA season, with the New York Knicks in complete disarray and relationships rather friendly between Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni, interim general manager Glen Grunwald, and Colangelo, there had been some serious talk about a deal for one of the Raptors’ point guards. No one will say who approached whom about what, but if you play the elimination game, it was probably the veteran Anthony Carter, who was supposed to be heading to New York.

The Knicks thought they needed somebody, anybody to help and Carter, with 12 seasons of work behind him, was an inexpensive and experienced answer.

The situation got so bad for the Knicks that D’Antoni was actually telling people around the league that he had no choice, he was running out of players, that he had to play Lin. Not that he wanted to.
