It may be a garbage time but man, 5/5 from JJJ. So can you still say that our pick won't be a factor? He didn't get attention because he barely make it on the rotation.

I'd trade JJJ for Marshon in a nano second

Maybe I'm a blind optimist, but I'm willing to gamble on JJ.

they never should have started -- created by the 'grass always greener elsewhere' crowd.  The debate wont' end until JJJ gets regular rotation time and shows he's as good or better than Marshon.

OMG... 11 points in 10 minutes.  If he played 40 minutes a night he'd average 44 points a game while shooting 100%.  Future Hall of Fameah right there, son!  Guy's a stah!  6'7" Larry Bird! Book it!

If Marshon were on this team people would be getting ready to make a parade for him and trade Ray

I agree.

Its all about fit though really. If we didn't get Bass in return for Baby and didn't get Wilcox the whole picture might be different.

No offense or anything but if you've been won over by 10 minutes of garbage time it doesn't take much to impress you.  Marshon has played real minutes against first units.

JJJ played great today, but he isnt on Marshons level yet.

The issue with JJJ IMO was never his offense...its his defense.  He's not strong enough to hold down the paint.  That was just as apparent as his prowess on offense today, as Ed Davis was able to push him wherever he wanted.

Marshon is NBA ready on both ends.

You can argue that. But now we saw his potential. But saying Brooks is better than JJJ is also absurd. At this point, maybe I'll say Brooks is better because he have more PT and more looks. Let JJJ and Brooks swap and he may bring the same numbers Marshon brings.

Well, "real minutes" is debatable, since more often than not New Jersey seems to be playing in garbage time.  Despite playing the 5th easiest strength of schedule in the NBA, the Nets are getting outscored on average by 7.1 points per game.

Brooks has looked pretty good.  I wonder, though, how good JJ would look if he was force fed minutes and had Deron Williams getting him the ball (while being asked to play absolutely zero defense).

I think Marshon's defense sucks.

The Nets are worst in the NBA in terms of defense.  Opposing SFs (Brooks' primary position right now) are shooting a disgusting .638 eFG% against him, and they're putting up a 18.3 PER against him.  His points allowed per possession is 256th in the NBA.

So, no, I wouldn't consider him NBA-ready on the defensive end.

The only problem with JJJ is his frame. He may want to add some bulk and he can become a poor man's KG. They are many soft players who turn out to be great. Maybe JJJ can do it too.

Brooks has actually performed; I don't care what team it was for; it is the NBA.  I mean if he plays on a bad team he's doing this against better teams.  I could see an argument that says he racks up stats against bad teams, but that is not the case.  All the "what if" scenarios about JJJ are pure fiction/fantasy; Brooks doing it FOR REAL.
