Full trade Rondo, JJJ, Wilcox or Bass, and J Oneal Plus first for Amare and T Douglas.

My only question is could this possibly make us a better team this year, and could we compete for a title if we could somehow pick up a solid veteran Point. Lets say we pick up George Hill from the Pacers for a pick.

 Amare, Steamroller
 KG, Brandon Bass
 Pierce, Pietrus
 Ray, A Bradley
 George Hill, Dooling, Douglas

It would help with offense and on the glass, it might be a mess without Rondo, but we have a nice core that plays well together.

Would Amare be able to fit in with the big three?

No thanks.  Amare isn't very good without a passing point guard to feed him, and even then he's not a ticket to contention unless you've got a good team to put around him.

All of that wouldn't matter so much if he wasn't 29 with bad knees.

mmm amare would need a great passer to feed him the ball and i dont think bradley, dooling etc could give him that quite like rondo could. I think we are better off shedding cap as well rather then putting more on with amare

if that is the question you have to ask, then why would you even consider it?  why contemplate getting worse in the last year we could even hope to be a championship contender, possibly for years to come?

Our best success this year has been when our defense was dominant. Amare is a no show on defense. It makes us worse this year.

I rounded up  ;)

Truthfully maybe 10 players in the NBA i'd pick over Rondo. If I'm generous 15 at the most in pool of 450players. Rondo is in 90th percentile of the NBA. Not bad for perennial all star with considerable flaws in his game.

In my opinion, Amare actually has negative trade value because of his massive contract.
