A lot of Celtics' fans want to upgrade to DRose or CP3 for Rondo, but you have to see that Danny tried this and failed. He tried and the league collectively said Rondo is not in the same company. Rondo has been weighed and judge and found to be lacking. I hope to God that that fact drives Rondo to be better, but this is the same conversation we've had year over year. He has one of the best shooters in the history of the game in Ray Allen to learn from and he practiced under Mark Price and the guy still can't hit a jump shot. Yes, he plays hard, but every fall and crash he takes could be his last. He is not built to last.
People talk about his facilitation, but sadly, I just don't consider passing the ball to 3 future hall-of-famers facilitating. My original question was do you buy players or do you manufacture wins. If you look at all the players as individuals, then yes, Rondo wins out. BUT, if you can manufacture Rondo's numbers with a tag team of Pierce, Bradley and Moore at a cheaper cost and the potential to add Marcus Camby, Robin Lopez, D. Favors, Big Al (all of which work on ESPN's trade machine) it has to be discussed...
Celtics fans value Rondo greater than the league, which is understandable, but shouldn't be acceptable.
In Danny, I trust.
