Yesterday was a fluke.  But a good sign nonetheless.  Let's see how this team plays when everyone is healthy and for a long stretch.

I mean, who knows....we've seen how bad our Celtics can look on offense.  Maybe it was just one of those nights for Orlando.  We'll find out soon enough!

Pierce seems to be getting better, so that will help a lot.

Despite his improved play we only beat the Wizards by around 6 with it being in doubt in the fourth quarter at one point.

Sustained improved defense as a whole and better play from Pierce is needed, along with Rondo/Ray/etc returning...

I think our hand is reaching for the switch...

I mentioned this earlier in another post, but this team to me just looked out of shape and unprepared the first 8-10 games. You could also tell Pierce was also completely out of whack and KG wasn't quite there yet either - only Ray was physically as far as the vets go.

We're assimilating a bunch of new guys without training camp and we're an older team.

I think the makeup of this team gives it a chance to be unique by year's end - and possibly championship caliber due to:

* Team chemistry
* Experienced players
* Nastiness - ( KG, JO, Pierce, Bass, Pietrus, Ray, Rondo, Bradley, Dooling - all are "in your face" instigator types and they're physical at their positions)
* Perimeter defense has potential to be absolutely stifling - ( Pierce, Pietrus, Marquis, Ray, Rondo, Bradley)

We're not there yet but I like the fight of this team and the trends I'm seeing. We're a ways away but moving in the right direction and that's all that matters.

I think we still need one more big man (even a Pryzbilla or Rasheed Wallace) just to come in and be long around the rim for 10-15 a night, hit some people.

If we get that and we stay healthy - I think we could be special come playoff time. Special meaning a shot at a ring and it would be by sneaking up on people and suprising them, it would be and underdog championship.

But this group has some very interesting characteristics to it if it all gels.

I'm not drawing any fundamental conclusions until the number of good wins exceeds the number of bad losses.

you can flip the switch, but if it isn't wired, or you haven't paid the electric bill, or the house isn't hooked up to a power plant it won't matter

Exactly.  We can say we flipped the switch if we have a winning record in about ten games.
do it

It was one game.
It was a very nice W, but I'm not so sure.

This will be a very weird season in the NBA due to injuries. it is entirely possible that some random team that manages to stay healthy wins it all. A team like Indy, for example.
Celtics fan for life.

Though I must say it is refreshing that the team didn't look groggy, for once.

Watch us get rocked by 20 in Orlando Thursday night - Nelson drop 36 on Bradley...

We'll all have our hand on the little red button again.

I like the incremental improvements I'm seeing with execution, conditioning and the aggressive attitudes, physical play and as mentioned we should have a pretty decent idea within another 10-15 games.

No less off a back to back against a Magic team ( don't remember where I saw it) that is a top 3 offense thus far. D12 just dominated Bynum pummeled LA etc etc

trade ray and add more young defensive minded role players  and the flip will defiantly be switched

I hope we have turned the corner.  I would prefer to see this group play it out and play well.  If they don't continue it then bust it up and start the rebuild.
