I think our hand is reaching for the switch...
I mentioned this earlier in another post, but this team to me just looked out of shape and unprepared the first 8-10 games. You could also tell Pierce was also completely out of whack and KG wasn't quite there yet either - only Ray was physically as far as the vets go.
We're assimilating a bunch of new guys without training camp and we're an older team.
I think the makeup of this team gives it a chance to be unique by year's end - and possibly championship caliber due to:
* Team chemistry
* Experienced players
* Nastiness - ( KG, JO, Pierce, Bass, Pietrus, Ray, Rondo, Bradley, Dooling - all are "in your face" instigator types and they're physical at their positions)
* Perimeter defense has potential to be absolutely stifling - ( Pierce, Pietrus, Marquis, Ray, Rondo, Bradley)
We're not there yet but I like the fight of this team and the trends I'm seeing. We're a ways away but moving in the right direction and that's all that matters.
I think we still need one more big man (even a Pryzbilla or Rasheed Wallace) just to come in and be long around the rim for 10-15 a night, hit some people.
If we get that and we stay healthy - I think we could be special come playoff time. Special meaning a shot at a ring and it would be by sneaking up on people and suprising them, it would be and underdog championship.
But this group has some very interesting characteristics to it if it all gels.
