Especially if the Knicks continue to struggle
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6v3vlrtI actually think this deal works out really well for both teams. Both the Celts and Knicks are clearly underacheiving right now (I think more so the Knicks than Celtics.) Both are looking up at the Sixers off all teams in the Atlantic Division. The Knicks need a point guard and may have made a mistake by trading away Billups. Between Rondo, Melo and Chandler, that's a more complete team then what they have now.
As for Amar'e, the Celts need size and a future PF after KG retires at the end of the year. The move helps both teams in the short and long term.
However, the Knicks struggles would have to continue for this to happen. No way they do this now. Definitely more of a mid-March time frame.
