Kind of a question asked for confirmation:

Players stuck in China are eligible, but you have to wait til they can reach a buyout / end of the Chinese season.

Yup. So, its not like you're starting this season over per se, but its not next year yet either.

Curious to see what the top 5 picked teams are.

I can't see the Thunder, Clippers and Heat making it out of the top 5. The Knicks would work according to conventional wisdom, but empirical evidence might suggest a risky pick. Bulls and Magic have to be considered because they have top 5 players in the NBA. Otherwise, unless you are going for the future and love Minnesota or want to do some Laker combination, I think that might be about it as far as options.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

At the risk of getting kicked out for asking a question that's a little more involved:

Are saying we've got a super abridged, half-season?

What I'm trying to figure out is if I'm in 'win-now' mode, how risky would it be in this fictitious season to pick someone in China like Wilson Chandler?

Picture it like this: Everyone has played (at the time of the draft) about 40% of their games. All the teams have an identical record.

And these games start after the draft is over, somewhere around the All-Star break?

Could we have 15 man rosters? That would be pretty sweet.

Maybe have two minutes between picks for the the last rounds. 30 teams, say two minutes between picks, 60 minutes a round. Nice and quick to avoid any hangovers about the missed picks we sometimes see in final rounds. Or perhaps go straight into free agency and allow one signing per team per day on the weekend right after the final round of the draft.

Any idea on what time during the day the picks will be?  Still need to figure out if I need to request a particular draft window.  Now that I'm on a train to Boston during this session, I'll need to make sure I'm available when it's time to pick.

IP said it'd be in two sessions, an afternoon and an evening one.
