  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Just a concern of mine: Are ALL teams going to be assigned? I have a small concern that if someone gets assigned CHA or TOR they MAY be at a disadvantage.

Kemba looks like a winner so far, but judging from the level of competitiveness I've seen here in these things in the past I would have a hard time selling a Kemba/Bismack lineup.

TOR? I guess Andrea/Derozan could be a good starting block.

As of right now, yes. All teams.

Thanks.

I was reviewing last yrs P2, and saw that there was some discussion about it.

I think one thing to emphasize is that there's no real "advantage" or "disadvantage", because this is all for fun.  There's no voting, or grading, or judging.  There might be some debating, but that's all based upon the curve of where you start versus where you end up.

So, if you get a bad franchise, don't sweat it.  Just try to put together a team that you think compares favorably to the real Bobcats, and you'll be doing well.

I'm not comfortable with a team on the moon. The homecourt advantage would be just such a wild variable, the temptation for puns and bad jokes about 'moon pies' and the like would be too strong.

I'm so sick of this blog's blatant anti space agenda.

I'm going to start my own site called celticsgalaxy.com for people who enjoy the Boston Celtics AS WELL AS space.

I know I have done this before and should remember but how is this working again?

The teams AND their drafting position will be assigned or the drafting position will be assigned in reverse order upon which people at the bottom of the draft pick their team they want first and then draft last so as to give bad teams a better chance to improve their team?

The reason I'm asking is that when Roy and I get assigned the Heat AND get the third pick in the draft, I don't want to hear anything about it.  ;) :D ;D

Question for the commissioner:

Do I have to wait for Newt Gingrich to become President, or can I already start planning my team's move to a Space Colony?

Thanks in advance,

No no...

It works like this: There will be a lottery, for all 30 "GM's". That will assign an order for picking teams.

If you get first, you pick whatever team you want. It'll probably be the Heat, or Clippers, or whatever, but it could be the cavaliers for all I care.

When the drafting comes around, regardless of what team you selected, you will draft in each round in the opposite order.

So, if you got first pick for teams, you get last pick in each round. no snake.

That's what I thought. You made it sound in your answer to GF that teams were assigned as were drafting positions.

TP for the clarity.

That's just how you read it. When i make something 'sound like something', it will be 'the clarion call of a pride and joy from times long since past, but not forgotten. From when things were simpler, and if I may be so bold, people were nicer.' Everytime. That's how I make things sound. Like a Pepperidge Farm commercial.

Can I abduct other player's talents, or do I have to settle for Shawn Bradley?

Here's why I ask - I'm looking at it like a Heat vs. Bulls situation. If I'm picking from the same talent that couldn't beat Babbs Bunny, Bill Murray, Michael Jordan and a collection of other role players, why bother? The Monstars showed a clear inability to perform where it mattered the most (bringing Jordan to Monstar mountain), and have shown nothing to make me believe they've improved their chances any further.

So if I pick from the same talent, what am I shooting for? Years of mediocrity? A fringe competitor? No. That's not what I stand for, and that's not how you construct a good pick 2 team.

I read this an thought I had just eaten a Peppermint Pattie.

Allow me to clarify. I am talking about the mints made by York and not the Charlie Brown cartoon character.
