The stats of these guys the last 2 weeks are remarkably similar.

I think it's hard to say that Rondo is an elite guy when you have rookies outplaying him

but Rondo's holding back on his scoring numbers because he's surrounded by hall of famers!

nevermind the fact that Rubio has a 25 ppg scorer to feed in the post / on the perimeter and Rondo has 3 old guys who can hardly string two good games in a row together any longer.
excuses excuses

So we went from comparing Rondo to guys like Rose CP3 D-Will Westbrook last year to Rubio this year? LOL.  BTW Rubio has only just begun to start (maybe 2 or 3 games ago) so expect this numbers to just go up with more PT.

another thing about Rubio -- at a time in the game when Rondo tends to disappear and defer, Rubio steps up.

Ricky Rubio leads the NBA in 4th quarter assists this season at 30? That's not bad.

I think this pretty much epitomizes your opinions on Rondo. Rubio leads the nba in 4th quarter assists this year and he's "stepping up". Rondo led the nba last year in assists/48 during crunch time and that's "disappearing".

Rondo is closer to Rubio than he is to those other 3 guys.  Sad but true.

I don't see how that's sad. Rubio looks to be an incredible talent.

  Happily, not true.

I agree more with this...but I expected more from Rondo

If you want to get sadder Kyle Lowry is basically putting up better numbers...granted he's having an unreal year.  But still.

Purely on paper Lowry is the best PG in the NBA right now.  Nothing sad about it, he's been building toward becoming elite for a couple of years now.

Rubio is so much better than Rondo that it isn't funny.  And it isn't even close.

Watching Rubio is like watching Larry Bird in his rookie year.  Pure artistry.  Pure basketball.

What's sad is I thought Rondo would build towards that. Or closer anyway. By this year I expected the occasional 3 and maybe 75% ft. FTs got worse. He jut isn't what we thought he'd be.

Whatever happened to the "Rondo makes the C's better shooters" argument?  I guess it was really Pierce's and KG's ability to make the shot than Rondo's incredibly accurate passing and vision that made the ball go in.

So now that our stars have declined and we're an average or below average team, Rondo no longer looks like an all-star, though he is still a very good player, just not quite on that top level.

I wonder if we could trade him and Avery for Rubio or maybe Lowry

I'd guess that Rubio's potential and marketability makes him next to untouchable.

Lowry's certainly looked good, and really has stepped up once given the opportunity but Rondo's been better for longer. Wouldn't make that deal.
