Desperate times call for desperate measures.
First, I don't feel that the Cs are in desperate times yet, as some others might think.
Second, I also don't think that taking a chance on Gilbert Arenas is a desperate measure, as some others might think.
The guy can score, Van Gundy never gave him a chance (admitted by Van Gundy himself, see:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1010940-nba-rumors-why-the-league-is-terrified-of-gilbert-arenas)and we can get him for cheap.
Arenas was amnestied and cleared waivers. We can get him for the vet minimum.
Arenas has expressed an interest in playing for the Heat, Knicks, Lakers or "whatever team DHoward ends up on". I suppose that those sentiments alone should make us discount him, BUT.....we need scoring and he can score.
Also, Arenas has always been a Celtics hater, especially making them want to pay for passing on him in the draft.
Nonetheless, Arenas wants to win, and our veteran presences can temper his goofiness.
He's worth a flier at the vet minimum. If he acts up, cut him. Low risk, high reward potential.
