I suspect he'll leave , if DH doesn't show up soon in NJ. I look for him to go to the Mavs. He seems bored and ready to bolt from the Nets.

Before leaving Utah, Williams showed almost no chinks in the armor. Luckily for us, the last 1.5 years have happened. He is not as good as Rondo in my opinion.

Deron is talented, one of the best point guards in the league - but so is Rondo. I know he puts up good numbers, but has Deron shown he can lead a team without big stars deep into the playoffs? He didn't do it in Utah, certainly not happening with the nets. The celts are not likely to be loaded with big talent next year, so why not stick with our guy Rondo!!!!
KG and Ray, especially KG, certainly should not be starting in the nba next year.
Deron took Utah to the conference finals with boozer as the only other legit all-star. Just saying....

Deron with PP,Ray and KG would be pretty unstoppable on offense.

Can you imagine a end of the game lineup of

Williams
Ray
PP
Bass
KG

all 5 could take the game winning shot, and all 5 are good to great ft shooters so it would be pick your poison .

I know Williams isn't having a good year so far, but look at who he's playing with. Lopez has been out so he has been playing with a lineup of Brooks,Damien James,Humphries and Petro

I would definitely trade Rondo for him .
KG and Ray, especially KG, certainly should not be starting in the nba next year.

I said this before, I would trade Rondo for Williams but only if Williams agreed to an extension and if prior to the trade word of the pending trade could be "leaked" to Dwight Howard's agent and his agent then "leaked" that if Willaims is traded to Boston then the only spot Howard wants to land next year is Boston.

If those things don't happen, I say keep Rondo.

What? KG is still a top 10 pf and Ray still a top 7 sg...I dont see them being much lower next year. They arent 1st team NBA'ers anymore but dont go too far.

Right...I would take Williams and Howard over Rondo, but not Williams over Rondo straight up.

I think it's a little much to say Ray shouldnt be starting anymore.  KG, you may have a point.

I still for the most part agree with the point your making.  These stud free agents arent stupid.  When they sign here its for the next 6 years not just the next year.  If they dont know it already everyone they let in their ear is gonna tell them that the celtics are cooked after next season, and possible after this one.

im not trying to be doom and gloom, but Rondo is obviously the bridge between this generation and the next, but thats not enough to keep people flocking to Boston.  JJJ needs to show that hes gonna be a productive starting PF on a competitive NBA roster.  Not a superstar.  Then if Jeff Green can turn the corner when he comes back, we might be back in business sooner than we expected.  Not to compete for a title, but be in a position to be an attractive destination for Free Agents.  Next year is gonna be an awful year, but it needs to be that way, and to be honest its the best year for it to happen.

The grass always seems greener on the other side with someone like D.Will.

Keep Rondo.

Dallas has the ability to land Howard and Williams next year. Williams would bolt. Not a hard sell for either. Owner who spends and the two of you get to join Dirk.

How?  If they amnesty Haywood and waive Odom for his $2.4 mil, they still have Dirk, Marion, Beaubois and Jones, for a combined $35 mil.  Add that to their roster cap holds and I believe they'll only have room for one max.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Also if the c's traded for him they would have his bird rights and be able to offer him a bigger contract than Dallas could. Dallas doesn't have anyone to trade for him

I think Rondo's a better overall basketball player than Deron Williams.  Also, I very much disapprove of Williams' role in getting Jerry Sloan fired from Utah.

I would not trade Rondo for Williams under any circumstances.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

look at deron williams, the guy became such a locker room cancer in Utah that they traded him for basically nothing to NJ

now, after he got what he wanted hes whining once again since NJ is not winning.

plus, theres the whole Deron vs. Sloan feud that caused him to retire...I dont care what anyone says in the media about it. but coaches of Sloan's type dont just retire in the middle of a season for no reason and Deron/sloan arent going to throw one another under the bus publicly

I dont think the kid is a winner or competitor..the moment its not going great, Derron wants to bolt town..sometimes you have to look beyond the stats and at the players personality.
