Still trying to fix what isn't broken...what, we lose a star guard in rondo, then get d willams...then what..in a month, when you find 1 or 2 things wrong with williams..you try to trade him for cp3....then micro-analyis him to death, then trade him for another pg.....The PG is not the problem here..add anywhere else.coach, center, shooting guard backup....forward...fast break runners.....

DEAD ON!!!! TP

When I read the title, I was wondering if Deron would be willing to be Rondo's backup, but quickly realized that it was another one of those threads, where one of the leagues best contracts gets traded for an illusion.

Three reasons this trade should never happen:
1. Rondo is right now a better player than Deron. And while Rondo seems to be improving and adding to his game every season, Deron seems to be stagnant. He may still have a higher ceiling than Rondo, but I wouldn't like to make that experiment in the middle of a season. Rondo knows the playbook better than Doc knows it, and starting over with no practice sessions is just a very bad idea.

2. Both of them are good people, but have issues personality wise. I prefer Rondo's pride and stubbornness, since he appears to be working with those issues, and he is all about winning. Deron seems to blame other people a lot.

3. Deron makes 6 million dollars more than Rondo this year (and even more next year, if he picks up his option ). This means that we probably would have to give up JO, too. Some people would welcome this, but it takes a lot of our depth away.

Pleaseeeeeeee trade for Deron Danny. Add Humphries for JO and we will fix our front court rebounding too.

bos sends:rondo,JO,Bradley,1st rd pick

NJ sends: Williams, Humphries

Rondo still sucks at ft shooting which kills our offense at the end of games

This team has so many issues changing our starting PG mid-season should be the least of our worries. Unless Williams can convince Ray Allen to share his fountain of youth with KG and JO I'm not interested.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

  • Rondo = Good
Rondo + Clippers pick + JO for D-Will and Kris Humphries sounds like a legitimate idea to me.

If the Nets are seriously concerned D-Will might leave them for nothing, it's possible they could consider it.

Deron Williams stock is the lowest its ever been. It will be difficult sell to New Jersey. But I would love to have Deron Williams on team though. Just One year ago D-Will was considered the best Point-Guard in the NBA. As big3 get older we need PG who can score. Right now if one the big3 has off night like tonight C's lose. All of this could be negated if C's didn't depend on Big3 to do all the scoring. Rondo will never threat to score.

look at deron williams, the guy became such a locker room cancer in Utah that they traded him for basically nothing to NJ

now, after he got what he wanted hes whining once again since NJ is not winning.

plus, theres the whole Deron vs. Sloan feud that caused him to retire...I dont care what anyone says in the media about it. but coaches of Sloan's type dont just retire in the middle of a season for no reason and Deron/sloan arent going to throw one another under the bus publicly

I dont think the kid is a winner or competitor..the moment its not going great, Derron wants to bolt town..sometimes you have to look beyond the stats and at the players personality.

I hate when people make comments about a player's "locker room personality." It's got nothing to do with his performance on the court. NOTHING. On top of that, these stories are really baseless. Absolutely no one can prove a player's interaction with his peers.

I cannot understand why everyone keeps thinking about getting a new PG when this is the only position in which we are well served and the man currently handling the job is the assit leader in the league and will certainly improve year after year!!

You watch the game tonight vs Indiana?
