Let's face it, the Nets aren't going anywhere. If the team starts to wave the white flag leading into March, could Deron Williams be acquired in a trade if the Celts offered Rondo and filler?

Rondo is off to a good start, but I think D-Will is the best PG in the NBA (next to CP3.)

Plus, if the Celts land D-Will, could DH be close behind next summer?

The Nets and Lakers are frontrunners to get Dwight Howard.  Probably will not dump Deron this season.

I think they could land Deron.  But I think he is going to be in either NJ or Dallas next year.

I wouldnt trade Bradley for Williams with the way he's playing to start the year... Theres no way i trade Rondo for Williams. I see Dwight ending up in NJ and moving to Brooklyn but that isnt a championship squad so im not worried.

I strongly dislike Deron. Rondo is better.

As long as Dwight Howard is still in play, New Jersey will keep Deron Williams.

If Dwight Howard is traded and is willing to re-sign with the team he has joined, then New Jersey is in a precarious position and may be willing to re-consider Deron Williams future with the club.

The Nets would have a very tough time hanging onto D.Williams without a major addition (or more) to their roster and would likely lose him to someone else in the summer (probably Dallas).

Question - If Deron wasn't willing to sign with NJ, why would he be willing to sign for Boston?

The Celtics have no future options superior to the Nets. It would be the exact same problem.

Dallas has the ability to land Howard and Williams next year. Williams would bolt. Not a hard sell for either. Owner who spends and the two of you get to join Dirk.

I assume you wouldn't do the Bradley trade because you don't want to pay Williams the big bucks. I value the past few years more than a few games on a bad team with no one healthy.

That is a scary trio. Dirk should age really well if Howard is doing all the banging.

Unrelated: Man, I'm watching the game and the Hawks dancers are horrible. There are plenty of hotties, but they look clueless dancing.

Really? Wow, I didn't know they had enough cap flexibility to sign both. I thought they could only get one of them.

Deron is talented, one of the best point guards in the league - but so is Rondo. I know he puts up good numbers, but has Deron shown he can lead a team without big stars deep into the playoffs? He didn't do it in Utah, certainly not happening with the nets. The celts are not likely to be loaded with big talent next year, so why not stick with our guy Rondo!!!!

Deron took Utah to the conference finals with boozer as the only other legit all-star. Just saying....

Deron with PP,Ray and KG would be pretty unstoppable on offense.

Can you imagine a end of the game lineup of

Williams
Ray
PP
Bass
KG

all 5 could take the game winning shot, and all 5 are good to great ft shooters so it would be pick your poison .

I know Williams isn't having a good year so far, but look at who he's playing with. Lopez has been out so he has been playing with a lineup of Brooks,Damien James,Humphries and Petro

I would definitely trade Rondo for him .

I'm not down with trading Rondo.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

  • Rondo = Good
I'd trade for Deron, but only if he were willing to sign an extension.
