He shut us all up last night for sure. If he can do that on a regular basis is yet to be seen, otherwise I'm sure he will be evaluated on a game-to-game basis until he proves he's back to form.
Shut us all up? I don't think so. Just proved the old saying that the sun does shine on a dogs __s once in a while!
Look I don't hate on JO I mearly think that with Rondo as the starting point, Wilcox would be more productive as a starter.
On the starting line up you have Paul pierce who gets his shots in the paint, Rondo driving the paint and KG has great court vision. I think Not having Oneal clogging the lane the other players would be more effective offensively.
Plus Rondo would have one more option on the break wich would make R.Allen more of a threat on the break as they opponents would be forced to close out the paint sooner.
Our rotations usually have Ray Allen playing for a while with the bench players. I believe having JO on the floor with Ray and the bench makes even more sense, in they would have to defend the floor from the rim to the locker room. Brandon bass would make a great PF to play with him, he cleans up misses well shoots the open jumper well and usually does not try to do things he cant do.
On the defensive end With starters like R.Allen and Paul pierce and even Rondo as he takes a few more chances with steals than I like, keep the pressure on our starting center.
Now Wilcox doesn't strike fear on anyone in the league but he does move his feet and could keep some gaps from ever appearing to the Offensive team in the first place.
I also think as a reserve that we could go to him more consistently as a scorer and get him more comfortable with the offense.
I don't want to punish JO I just think it would make us a better team and improve our win percentage.
On a side note it would be nice to see the new kid work his way to 15 or 20 min a game if he can stay out of foul trouble.
