Guards like Marshon are dime a dozen. But few bigs are as talented as JJ. I believe in 5 years Jajuan will be an allstar.
Too bad Danny didn't spend a dime the last 5 drafts and gotten one, because this team desperately needs a scoring wing with the second unit.
It's a tiny sample size, but even the biggest JJJ defender has to admit that Brooks has shown that he can fill it up (15.2 ppg on 49% shooting, and 7th highest scorer per minute in the entire league).
I don't know if Brooks would have been able to get rotation minutes on the Cs, who stress defense. It's going to suck to see Brooks become a big time scorer while the beanpole JJJ barely finds any traction in the league the next couple of seasons.
I really want to be wrong about this one, but from what I've seen, Brooks looks like a prototype scoring SG (perfect SG size, natural ability to fill it up, not shy about hoisting shots at any time, good shooter, athletic finisher).
Thinking of Brooks as Ray Allen's understudy for a couple of seasons before stepping up as a starter next to Rondo had me thrilled for about three minutes on draft night.
On a woeful Nets team, I expect Brooks to put up huge (if empty) numbers this season. Don't be surprised if he leads all rookies in scoring this season.
