Can someone try to change my assumption? Cause its pretty clear Sweetney has much more talents if he can keep his kilos down. ::)

The conditional element in your statement disqualifies it.

Its like saying, 'Winter in Canada would be better than summer if it didn't snow'. It doesn't matter what else winter could be, it'll always snow. No matter how awesome Michael Sweetney's footwork is and blah blah blah.....he's a big ol fatty and can't play NBA basketball.

If Sweetney was 100 pounds lighter (and that is not an exageration, he is at least 100 pounds overweight), then yes, he would be much better than Johnson.  That is why he was a lottery pick.  Unfortunately, it seems that ship has sailed (and been eaten by Sweetney himself).  Considering he looks about 30-40 pounds heavier this year than he was a couple years ago when he was cut because of his weight, I have to believe he is a lost cause.  I also would have to imagine his knees must be close to their breaking points.

JJ needs to gain 20lbs to play PF in NBA. Sweetny needs to lose 100lbs. Thats not a joke. JJ has everything we would want in a back up big he just need to get stronger and learn to play at the nba pace (mentally). With a year of solid development JJ will be a solid first big off the bench for us.

Did you choose Canadian Winter because the OP is OttawaCeltic or is that just coincidence? Was there something you were going for there?

lol. Plus I disagree with the quote. Snow or no snow, I hate the winter. The wind chills me the most. But I agree with the quote. BUT (haha, double 'but' contradiction) 3J has shown us nothing except a jumper in the public scrimmage. Sweetney looks SWEET in the post for defense. Like Shaq, no one dares to try a drive on him as much as KG or JO.

I didn't get to see either preseason game this year, but if Sweetney was ruled out by Doc because of his size, I can't disagree. Not with the urgent need for a real physical force in the middle. If Doc thought his weight was a manageable issue, he'd likely be in green.

I watched Sweeney closely in the scrimmage, and he really couldn't move.  Any post defense he gives is overriden by his inability to cover any pick and rolls, set picks without fouling, get to any loose balls, or get any lift to get his shot off in traffic.

Johnson on the other hand looked completely lost offensively, and somewhat lost offensively.  But other than that actually looked decent.  His shot is a thing of beauty, and he seemed to understand how to defend, even without a big frame.

I wish Sweetney was better, because he would be huge for this team (no pun intended), but he has just eaten his way out of the NBA.

Johnson on the other hand, I expect to be able to contribute  by midseason, if they have a need for him because of injuries/guys not performing.

Johnson is better than Sweetney in the long run, don't forget Johnson is still a rookie and KG took him under his wing recently...

He is young and has many potential for the future

Sweetney on the other hand has trouble losing his weight...until he's at the right body size, then no

Agree with the overall meesage here.

Strength-wise, however, JJJ can more than hold his own.

JJJ can bench 330. How many athletes outside of the NFL can bench 100 lbs over their body weight? He also did 12 reps of 185 at the NBA combine for 9th spot of all participants.

He has all the physical tools and attitude and the right mentor in KG to make an impact this year. Let's hope that it happens sooner rather than later.

That's actually pretty impressive, especially considering he has such long arms.
