I like KG...I really do.  BUT...

His act is growing really tired.  His skills are diminishing, yet the older he gets the more arrogant he seems to be on the floor.  There's a reason why a lot of people don't like him, and even as a fan of the Celtics, I'm starting to agree with his critics.  Today's actions at the end of the Knicks game, FIRST game of the season, just proves he's foolish.

Someone who really cares about the guy needs to sit down with him and give it to him honestly: he needs to shut and just play ball.  He no longer has the skills to back it up, and watching him wilt late in games this year, as I believe we will witness this a lot more this season, will be painful to watch.

Not trying to be cruel to the guy because he's a Celtic and deep down I appreciate him.  But he's becoming one of the biggest loudmouths to every play the game, and witness him spewing profanities and spit particles at the opponent just shows a lack of respect.  It's a bit more tolerated when you can back it up, but I fear that KG has a false perception of his abilities, and running his mouth will now only serve to embarrass him.

As much as I hate to admit it, I really hope he gets a game suspension from today's stupidity.  Maybe he needs a wake-up call...  But I wish someone would break it gently to this guy that we fans are growing sick and tired of his antics...

To be real, the nobody is showing our team any love or respect. So why should KG place nice with the opposition? Go hard or play another sport.

Larry Bird is said to have been one of the greatest trash talkers of his generation...  So a question:

Why did people respect Larry, as you never heard a bad word from others about him... While KG is literally hated by many NBA players?  Why is this so??

It's because the WAY KG goes about doing it.  There's a right way and a wrong way, and KG doesn't understand that... and I fear others must not as well as I'm sure KG will be largely defended with many responses in this thread.

If you want someone who is a little softer, kinder, and able to stay cool and calm during intense games, root for Pau Gasol.

KG will take your thoughts into consideration
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

LOL no. KG needs to be KG. End of story. If it takes him punching someone in the face and a few game suspension, so be it.

Could you imagine if someone told Bill Russell to stop being Bill Russell because he was getting older and his skills were diminishing?

Ridiculous thread.

So, do you want to believe that KG HONESTLY said to Charlie V that "you're a cancer to your team"??  That's laughable, and this is the kind of stuff I'm talking about.  Nobody would say that on a basketball court...

It's this kind of stuff that gets KG the hatred that he deserves...

The Knicks responded to us the way they did at the end of that game because there's nothing like shutting up an arrogant tool who runs his mouth...  The Celtics are known for this.  I don't want a softer kind of player.  Just a smarter one...

But maybe I'm speaking a language that many just don't get.

So, you know for a fact that Russ acted like KG does??

Ridiculous response...

Agree 100 percent with the op. I love KG, but his act is both getting tired and getting worse. Slapping/choking a guy after a game has ended proves what? I love KG's effort, but what he did today was buffoonery.

KG has been slowly becoming a caricature of himself.  Sure looks to me to be a guy who's seen his own mortality, and it's scared the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. out of him.

I wish we would have won this game and KG choked Bill anyway. Somebody should tell Bill Walker to stay in his lane and not act like he hit the game winning shot. You beat the C's for the first time in a year. Big deal.

I don't agree at all.

What exactly is the "right way" and the "wrong way" to trash talk?  Isn't it all "wrong"?

I think the biggest difference is that the media is chronicling KG's trash talking way more than it ever did with Larry.  When Larry played there wasn't a 24 hour news cycle on the NBA with ESPN, twitter, and countless blogs.

And what does it really matter?  Who cares if people don't like him?

Bill Walker has been punking with us since he was traded.  This is nothing new...    This isn't tennis ladies.  In fact , tennis isn't tennis anymore either.

His antics is hurting his legacy, and more importantly its hurting the team. Why is he always picking on smaller players?
