Kevin Love is a very, very good player and people better recognize.

He's not an uber athlete but the guy does so much on the court.  He's so productive.  What other player in the league could haul in 17 rebounds and nail 5 threes?  Even on a bad team, putting up 20-25 points per game while grabbing 10-15 rebounds is incredible.  The guy is one of the best big men in the game, he's really young, and now he's got a great passing point guard feeding him.

I think the much maligned T-Wolves are finally on track to being a really good team.  Rubio + Love is a duo you can build around.

They really need some defensive quality with Love seeing so many big man minutes though.

Yeah, they still need a good defensive center.  Give them a guy like Dalembert or Okafor inside and they'd be a playoff team.

Kobe 2-14, Bynum 5-6. Time for the balance of power to shift in Laker-land.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Kobe is unbelievable.  Mosgov just gets completely destroyed by Pau in single coverage in the post.  Next possession force a shot against a triple team!

Another 25 and 15 game for Kevin Love and the Wolves are on their way to their second straight win after not winning for two thirds of a year.

How long until Kevin Love starts getting the recognition that he deserves?

I think I'll be liking the Mavs for as long as the Jet remains on that team.

I'm weird like that.

Also, so much for the Spurs . . . Ginobili broke his hand.  He's their best player, and was having a great start to the year.  He'll probably miss at least the next couple of months.  Without Ginobili the Spurs might not even be pushing .500 at that point.

It was his shooting hand that he broke, too, so he might not be the same again for the rest of the season.

ya, thats a big blow to the spurs....its all about getting to the playoffs healthy for these older teams though..

Mavericks are looking real good tonight...theyll be a force in the west once they start getting their conditioning back.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the Mavs.  Too much talent on that roster for them not to win a bunch.  Dirk is still capable of carrying them.

I think the main question for them is if their defense can still be good enough to go anywhere in the post-season.  I'm not so sure.

Oh man, just looked that up, that's a pretty random way to break your hand too :(

Watching the Mavs - Dirk won't change, he's still an amazing shooter.

so, looks like the zone defense is still the heats weakness..as that is what allowed Atlanta to slow the heat down...

Being picked for the all-star game isn't recognition enough?

No.  Not when K-Love puts up better numbers than Blake Griffin and has a better all-around game, yet Blake gets all the hype.

Blake was considered close to being a top 10 player by ESPN this summer, while Love didn't break the top 20.

I think most people who follow the NBA would easily recognize Blake Griffin and consider him a superstar.  I doubt you could say the same about Love, even though he puts up even more impressive numbers (in my opinion).

Blake Griffin will probably be a better player than Love someday, but right now I'll take the guy who nails shots from anywhere on the floor and rebounds better than anybody not named "Dwight Howard."

I'll take the guy who doesn't project to be a bad defender his entire career.

Also where you get your points matters, attacking the paint is more valuable than hitting jump shots when it comes to it.

Meh.  How many stars are amazing defenders?  Kevin Love doesn't block shots, but he gets steals and if you put him next to an athletic big man who can actually make defensive rotations, his defense would be just fine.  Kevin Love is not a worse defender than Dirk Nowitzki, and he's probably better than Amare.

I also disagree with your second point.  Being able to score inside is valuable, but Kevin Love is able to score extremely efficiently by hitting outside shots, and it clearly doesn't take away from his ability to rebound.  He also gets to the line quite a lot for a guy who takes so many outside shots, and he gets a lot of put-backs because of his great rebounding.  Kevin Love doesn't just score from outside -- he can score from anywhere on the floor.

The one thing about Kevin Love is that he's not going to score against double teams and that sort of thing.  I wouldn't want him as my #1 offensive option.  But I can't think of any player I'd rather have as my #2.
