[dang]! I was hoping the Clippers would take a while to put it together. Hopefully they struggle a little big early in the season. Hopefully this is the Lakers taken a step back as well.

Unlike us, that team did everything right in the off-season.  They are not a "Huge 2" team, because Billups and Butler can be monsters this year.

Since Jeff Green is done for the season, we really should look at Ryan Gomes. If the Clippers are willing to trade him, we should be willing to take him back. Pavlovich and a pick for Gomes?

I'm going to go ahead and say CP3 to the Clippers has a terrible impact on the Celtics. Truth be told, I would of rather him gone to that OTHER LA team.

Me too -- that draft pick was Boston's best asset (trade asset or roster addition) after Rajon Rondo.

Losing the value in that pick is painful.

Just a pre-season game, but the Clips look like they are on an entirely different level than the Lakers.
It doesn't matter guarantee this game messed a bit with their psyche

The biggest question i have about that team is: can chauncy play an effective 2?

So for the lads who watched it, can he play and guard the 2? or cant he?

I know we have a "Recommended Reading" thread here on the blog, but I'm going to post my recommendations here, if no one objects:

For Blake Griffin: Read "Kevin McHale's school of Post Offense and Defense." I know he's getting better, but until he shows me more in these areas I can't compare him to the all-time greats.

DeAndre Jordan: Read a few chapters of the above book, but also check out a few chapters of: "Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's School of Hook." C'mon man BRITNEY GRINER (love her as a player) has a HOOK SHOT, for crying out loud. ;D

Youthfulness and athleticism will help you tremendously, but will only take you so far (See MIA vs DAL last June).

It is for these reasons why I cannot pick the LA Clippers in a seven game series vs the Lakers. The Lakers are a different team now, without Lamar and they have a new coach, but I really believe that as soon as they get used to Mike Brown they are better than the Clippers.

I love Chauncey, but I don't believe he would be able to have that kind of production for a seven game series.

I only saw half the game last night, but based off of what I saw this is how I arrived at my conclusion. Just my take.

Kobe would have killed Chauncey if he'd played within the team. He wanted the spotlight and ran his @$$ right into a double team and right into DeAndre Jordan's block and just screwed his team. The Lakers will only get worse if Kobe continues this mentality.

This was more than just a preseason game.  If any of the guys on the court were competitiors, it certainly was.

Clippers looked very impressive already.  To me it really highlights how much better CP3 makes everyone else and how much he did with not so much in New Orleans.  And honestly, I love Rondo, but it kind of bums me out we didn't get Paul again.

Blake looked good obviously but I think DeAndre is going to benefit most from Paul, and wow was that dunk over Gasol and Bynum impressive.  WOW.

Lakers looked very weak.  Without Odom they just have no depth.  McRoberts wasn't a bad pickup but if he is your Odom replacement you are in huge trouble.  And Artest looked like garbage.  It is a preseason game sure, but the Lakers have a lot to be concerned about.

Not only did their bench look horrible, the coaching staff is Mike Brown with John Keuster as top assistant.  Talk about uninspiring....No way Kobe stands for this....

Was it just me or did the Lakers start off pretty well and then just tank when Kobe started doing his solo act?
