1. They are keeping Green out of practice for allegedly failing his physical, but they say it's nothing big the situation will be be "resolved this week"

Quote
He was later asked whether the injury would jeopardize the 1-year deal Green recently signed that's reportedly worth $9 million.

"No, no, no," Ainge said. "We're not even close to that. It's just precautionary. Practice just started today really, when we had our whole team here. It'll be resolved this week."

They are being so cryptic about it, and it has many of us on here curious , is this a ploy by Danny to get out of finalizing a contract with Green so he could still be used in a s+t for cp3?

2. Lakers don't have enough assets to try and get cp3 and Howard anymore, so they will have to pick one and they have made it clear that Dwight is their main target after pulling out of the CP3 running

3. GSW aren't willing to give up curry and couldn't land cp3's buddy Tyson Chandley, so why would he resign there?

4. The clippers just claimed Billups off waivers, he is unable to be traded this season and I don't see Billups accepting a backup role.

The Clips don't want to give up both Gordon and the minny pick so their final offer is

LAC sends: Gordon or Minny Pick, Kaman  and Aminu
NO  sends : CP3

To me the c's could top that off with an offer of

Boston sends:Rondo, Green , JO , Bradley or JJJ , and 2 1st rd picks

NO     sends: CP3 Ariza( not needed with Jeff Green, they get out of his 3 year contract which is good for selling the team)

Rondo gives them an equal young talent to Gordon and Curry, but who is signed at a very reasonable contract(probably less than Gordon and curry will command). Green is an equal talent to Chris Kaman, Jo would be sent as an expiring contract to take back Ariza's long term deal. In addition to this they get more young pieces with JJJ and 2 1st rd picks in a pretty deep draft next year.

Could everything be lining up for the c's to land CP3?

Someone had to make this post :P

Am I the only Celtics fan who doesn't want CP3?? What is wrong with everyone?! We don't need another all-star guard! We need a center for crying out loud! This CP3 talk is really driving me up a wall.

I am sure you aren't the only one, but I would definitely want CP here.  A gifted PG who can shoot. This would make a huge difference for this team.  Makes us contenders, IMO.

Center position: KG, CW, Vet Min TBD

I don't think Boston can land CP3 now since they've signed Jeff Green. I don't think we can include him in a trade for the next 90 days I believe.

I'm fine with going forward with Rondo anyway. Is CP3 better? Yeah, of course but Rondo isn't exactly a scrub either so let's just focus on who the heck is going to be our center. Not many names out on the free agent market so C's need to jump on someone now. Kwame Brown maybe?

You ever had that one weird girl in your class growing up who had a serious obsession with a guy who thought somehow if she just got a chance to show him how much she loved him, he'd love her back? In reality, he didn't even know she was alive. This is what some C's fans are turning into with CP3.

I don't want CP3 here. Let him go to LA, which by all accounts, is where he wants to be.

RondoHondo, nobody actually did have to make this post.  It's just more gratuitous CP3ity.

This whole thing with the failed (wink wink) physical really makes you wonder whether Danny does in fact have something up his sleeve.  I think there is a chance with an offer of Rondo, Green, Bradley, Clippers pick.  Throwing in JO and Ariza as the OP suggests may be viewed as an upgrade from NO's point of view.  Man, I really don't want to get my hopes up again, I was starting to like our team.

If that's the deal, no thanks.  too expensive.  we make that deal, we move our 3 best young players, 2 picks that would be needed for rebuilding, we lose the main piece we traded for (CP3 when he signs with the team he really wants next year) AND the only piece we'd have left is a mediocre swingman on an overpriced contract for a couple more years.

CP3 would not overcome everyone that's being sent out in this deal.  C's primary issue is the lack of bench scoring that would enable the Old 3 to stay on the bench getting rest.

First of all, you're in a big market, which is something that the NBA obviously isn't crazy about working with.

Second, they've rejected excellent deals. What makes you think YOUR deal is so much better than the rest.

Third, Chris Paul doesn't want to play there.

I'm sorry but what "excellent deals" did they reject? Because the deal to the lakers was far from excellent.

Ouch for you guys, huh?

I never actually thought I'd say the Lakers got cheated in my life time.

Draft picks, Odom, Scola, Kevin Martin, Dragic. Pretty good, IMO, and in the opinion of 99% of analysts. Clippers also had a solid deal that was rejected.

Not really - I'll wait to see what happens. I think we can still get some nice pieces.
