First of all, you're in a big market, which is something that the NBA obviously isn't crazy about working with.

Second, they've rejected excellent deals. What makes you think YOUR deal is so much better than the rest.

Third, Chris Paul doesn't want to play there.

I'm sorry but what "excellent deals" did they reject? Because the deal to the lakers was far from excellent.

Draft picks, Odom, Scola, Kevin Martin, Dragic. Pretty good, IMO, and in the opinion of 99% of analysts. Clippers also had a solid deal that was rejected.

LOL!! Yea, the laker loving biased analysts who felt gipped because the lakers didn't get CP3 for 10% of his value. Are you kidding me? That was a terrible offer and there would have been an uproar by the owners if it had not been rejected. Welcome to the post lockout NBA where LA's days of getting superstars for junk are over.

With what the NBA is asking, I would sense that they would want your Clippers pick, Rondo, Kevin Garnett, and probably some small miscellaneous pieces.

I would do that for CP3. Garnett is gone after this season anyway and it's a given that we would have to include the clippers pick in a deal for Paul.

Ouch for you guys, huh?

I never actually thought I'd say the Lakers got cheated in my life time.

Not really - I'll wait to see what happens. I think we can still get some nice pieces.

What?! You're not slobbering all over yourself to get Chris Paul in the purple and gold?  Trade everyone; Bynum, Gasol, Kobe, the Kardashians . . .

Why not throw in Pierce and Ray, too?  Those guys are done.

The Sixth Man of the Year, an 18/10 forward, 22+ pt scoring wing, a solid backup PG and some picks are very fair talent-wise.  And the Lakers gave up Gasol + Odom + misc.

The NBA balked because they were taking on a lot of long-term salary commitments for non-superstars, not because the talent didn't match up.

Am I the only Celtics fan who doesn't want CP3?? What is wrong with everyone?! We don't need another all-star guard! We need a center for crying out loud! This CP3 talk is really driving me up a wall.

You ever had that one weird girl in your class growing up who had a serious obsession with a guy who thought somehow if she just got a chance to show him how much she loved him, he'd love her back? In reality, he didn't even know she was alive. This is what some C's fans are turning into with CP3.

I don't want CP3 here. Let him go to LA, which by all accounts, is where he wants to be.

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Yeah I definitely came back to this board way too soon.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This is interesting, Clippers just picked up Chauncey Billups.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/217435/Clippers_Make_Successful_Bid_On_Billups

why do they need him when they have CP3 and Mo Williams ?

CP3 might be heading East ? lol
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

sigh. even i am not delusional enough to think the celtics have anything to match the clippers offer of gordon/minnie draft pick, kaman, and others.

we might as well speculate on how larry bird signed david west so he could trade him to the celtics for OJ and JJJ.

please, let's move on. at this stage this is simply fantasy-based thinking and denial. ainge did a good job of improving the celtics so let's focus on the team as they are.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

We can't trade Green for 90 days.  I do wonder what other options are out there for NO though.
