  • Rondo = Good
Never been crazy about West's game, but he's definitely a fine scorer on a team that needs one.

Amazing how much we stand to improve offensively by swapping out Baby, JO and Perkins for West, Bass and Green.  Looking much more like a team that can maximize Rondo's gifts.

yeah.  if you have to have a non-shooting distributor as your centerpiece, it makes a lot of sense to surround him with talented shooters who can defend reasonably well.

Would be great if I thought he was healthy enough to play well.  I don't.

Yeah,  I saw that.  March 24 of this year for a ACL tear?   Sorry, but I'll have to see it before I believe it.  He may play but he won't be back to the same guy.

this is a great trade for the celtics...Jermaine oneal(who played a whoppping 24games last year) for David west?

you could potentially sit KG out games to rest him and have west play. this guy averaged the same #'s KG did last year in boston

Yeah me too. Maybe the trade exception is enough of a reason for them to do it?

something just occurred to me --- with danny ainge making moves for brandon bass and david west today, and also signing chris wilcox, i think we can officially say, as if there were any doubt:

danny ainge absolutely LOVES undersized power forwards.

Huh?  Who's undersized?  Those guys are undersized for the 5...not the 4.

Brandon Bass 6-8 and LONG
David west 6-9 and ripped
Chris Wilcox 6-10

wilcox is 6'9''.  under 6'10'' is traditionally considered undersized for PF, while under 6'11'' is traditionally considered undersized for center.

although i will concede to you that in the modern NBA the concept of "undersized" seems to be eroding with all of the 6'8'' and 6'9'' swing forwards and there being so few skilled true centers.

Wilcox West are the same height as Amare Stoudemire and Karl Malone. Big Baby, Barkley those are undersized 4's.

Blakely seems to be tweeting that it's not a done deal. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

If i come home from a night out and there's 16 pages of David West signing as a Celtic talk amid all of this chaos . . . Will someone just stell me this is really happening?
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

KG finally relented and said yes to being a center then, huh?

maybe david west plays some center, and I have to imagine the C's may make another move at center to solidify that spot

looks like trade not going to happen.....

Green yes, West no

Ainge, known for his blockbuster moves, nearly pulled off another one last night when he reportedly came close to signing pricey free agent David West. It was unclear whether he attempted to use restricted free agent Jeff Green in a sign-and-trade to make the deal for West possible.

“They’re out of that race, but they did try,” said a league source
