in all these trades? shaq, pau gasol for nothing, CP3...it seems like the celtics cant catch a break.

you almost have to imagine that the NBA just wants the Lakers to win the finals every year

so much for the whole "competitive balance" pushed throughout the lockout by the owners...you still have a very few teams stockpiling superstars and the rest being left out.

after this season, il probably be bored on the NBA...because its going to be LA, Miami, NYC, Bulls every year....maybe OKC ill root for them

the NBA is owned by Lakers fans.  it's the only explanation.

No, its all location.

I mean, if i was a superstar player who could control where i went (which lets be honest, CP3 is) and i didn't have the celtic fanatic part of my brain, would I rather play in Southern California or a cold weather city like Boston?

I'd go Cali every time.

I'm royally p---ed at NBA, Demps and Stern. First, the Lakers are handed Gasol on a golden plate and now they get CP3 for an aging Gasol and a 32 year old sixth man. I say let FBI raid Buss' office...they have some dirt on Stern & Co.

There is no other explanation for it, besides the fact the the NBA wants Paul and Howard in LA.

The team is owned by the freaking NBA. I'll cool down eventually, I wrote a thread earlier about how i wanted rondo over paul. I still do. But theres no way that a team would logically prefer a 31 year old center over a 25 year old all star point guard. Especially when the team your trading with has a center (of similar caliber) that's much younger!

It just doesn't make any sense. But oh well, i embrace the underdog role.

I dont understand how Pau gasol/odom is better than Rondo/Green 2 number 1 picks!! and the celtics even offering a 3 team trade to get the hornets more peices!

theres just no common sense.

the lakers are pracitcally gifted these trades...celtics are basically giving you 4 young players....lakers 2 waashed up 30year olds(gasol was Horrid in the playoffs)

I am now convinced the league is rigged for the Lakers. The Hornets need young players to build around and draft picks. What the hell do they need two forwards that are in their 30's for?

Oh, and they also still have Andrew Bynum, the one player the Hornets should want just so the league makes sure they have enough to deal for Dwight Howard.

David Stern and the league own the New Orleans Hornets. If this trade goes through, This will be worse than 1985 draft rigging x100.

the hornets apparently want to remain competitive right now, and they believe that they can do that with odom / gasol and not rondo / green / picks.  i would have to agree that the hornets are better right now after the trade they've just made than they would have been with the celtics' package, but it definitely doesn't make sense from a rebuilding standpoint.

Location, weather, food, women. It doesn't help either that they actually have the pieces to get CP3 (Bynum or Gasol) or Howard (Bynum and Odom).

So is it Gasol or Bynum? I've heard both.

If it's gasol it's a great trade for them. If they traded Bynum for a PG, albeit a great one, with 35 year old knees they are getting the short end of the stick.

I hope it's odom/bynum....

cp3 wasn't the one who made this trade.  pau gasol didn't trade himself to the lakers, either.  the lakers get these ridiculously lopsided deals that favor them and bring them titles.

it's like the lakers are the only team that isn't allowed to ever be awful.

Apparently it's a three way with Houston. Houston is giving them Martin and Scola. NO is also getting draft picks. What is houston doing?
