Probably Bynum to Houston. Not sure why New Orleans prefer what Houston has to offer over Bynum.

Chandler next to Amare is a great pairing for the Knicks.  Amare for CP3 would just leave them without a post presence.

Who knows, maybe they can flip some pieces and become the Hornets East by adding David West, too.

They need some players who can pass the ball still, Melo/Amare/Chandler is lacking in that department.

Because Bynum is only signed for one year longer than CP3 (team option for 2012/2013)

They could be going through this all again next year.

Or in a trade if they go for CP3.

The real question is that with NY out of the way, is CP3 more willing to sign an extension in LA with the Clippers? If so then that pretty much eliminates us from the running.

He's not signing an extension anywhere, it'd cost him 30 million potentially.

I think Chandler going to NY would help us, removes NY as an option in FA and removes the lure of reuniting with Chandler.

  Handshake agreement for what, the MLE or so? How much cap room would they have? And how close is the $14M in space someone was talking about to having enough space to trade for CP3? That should be the bigger concern...

Talking about the Clippers... No money left with Melo, Amare, and TC on the books.

No they can gain enough cap room by using amnesty on Billups along with letting some players go.

They got to find people to take those guys. Ill be shocked if Dallas doesn't get Billups. It's too logical.

lol.  People keep talking about CP3s knee, but we signed Pierce til like 2014, and he's probably has the same knee issue as CP3 since 2008.

I really don't see how this makes the Knicks that much better of a team. Chandler is a great defensive presence but does he make the Knicks that much better than having the leadership, ball handling, and floor general ability of a Billups or the toughness that having a guy like Turiaf brings?

Also, doesn't it seem like this team should be being coached by a man that believes in half court offense and tough defense and not up tempo transition offense and no defense.

Grant Hill is rumored to being brought aboard to play in the starting SG position and have Landry Fields come off the bench. Well, Hill and Fields are both wing players, Melo is born SF, Amare the PF and Tyson is the center. Is Douglas and Shumpert going to be asked to run the point in D'Antoni's run and gun style offense?

This personnel looks like it is more suited to something Phil Jackson should be coaching where Hill or Melo is the point forward and there doesn't necessarily have to be a strong PG.

I can't believe how much money a guy who averages barely 10/10/1bpg is commanding.

It shows you champhionship runs can skew market price just like a NCAA run can change where rookies get drafted.

That's not an extension, Boozer showed that handshake deals can be broken too.

He could only sign an extension for less years if he's traded than he could get as a FA, he won't do that it'd be silly. Better to become a FA and decide on his options then.

That's the "handshake" agreement I was talking about. CP3 was clearly holding out to find some way to be in NY for near maximum money. Yet with NY gone then the ultimatum could be put forward by NO that " hey Chrs NY is out. It's Boston or the Clippers but it's not the Clippers if you won't give them your word you're staying after this year."

 Risk for the Clips sure, but hey we both don't think he is walking away from that 30 mill either.
