I am so torn about these rumors latley its killing me! I LOVE Rondo, Really do. Sometimes he does things that are simply amazing. I also looks at the things he does sometimes that hurt this team like stangnet with the ball if clock is running down and passing up shots to pass it off. I love him cause he is a Celtic and also because he knows where to get guys the ball in a crunch time as well. THEN I look at Chris Paul who is a very very good player, and think about the things he could bring the Celtics. Hitting those open shots that Rondo wouldn't, good defender, smart player, and very willing to give the ball up or take over. Then the negative... He doesn't seem willing to stay long term where I dont exactly blame him because of the current roster. But I also don't understand How he doesn't see this could be his best shot at a title this year.. AS WELL as getting Dwight the next off-season. I am just really torn on this whole thing who else is feeling like this.

I'm torn because on the one hand Chris Paul is better than Rondo. On the other hand, he's not 9-11 Mill a year better.  On one hand, PGs are the least important position to have a dominant player at, on the other hand it would be nice to have one dominant player. On one hand I think it's dumb to build around a pg, on the other hand we may not have to worry about that if he won't resign and if he does he'll lure better players here. On one hand his knees worry me, on the other hand who knows if Rondo will have two good arms the rest of his career.

This trade has torn me into an octopus.

BOTH are very good players. Rondo is capable of things Chris Paul isn't. Chris Paul is capable of things Rondo isn't. Who fits better around the Big 3? Hard to say. Rondo knows the system, and is a better defender, and has the best court vision short of Steve Nash and Jason Kidd. Chris Paul is smoother offensively, and doesn't turn the ball over as much. Who is easier to build around? Probably Chris Paul, but in all fairness it is tough to build around a PG.

I'm feeling odd knowing Danny has already called Baby to express interest, especially while Delonte is tweeting he's sitting next to the phone.

Im not torn.

We're not competing this year, we need to build around the best player we can get our hands on.  If Rondo is that player, so be it.  But we have the option to go get CP3, D12, or D-Will then obviously we need to jump on that

How come your feeling odd? Have a feeling something is going to happen?

  • Rondo = Good
i care more about the uniform than the player and i just want danny to do whatever will put this team closer to competing for a championship on an annual basis sooner rather than later.

I am also torn. If it was Rondo for Paul straight up I wouldn't be. However, those salaries don't match up. We'd need to move Baby (if he's willing), JO or Green to match salaries.
Do we really want to decrease our depth on an old and brittle team to add a player with injury history in the past? What if they want the Clippers first rounder in addition? Then if Paul leaves at the end of the year we are more screded than we initially would have been.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Get Paul, he's a better player. Isn't that the name of the game-get as much talent as you can reasonably afford. I like RR, but having a pg with a jumper changes how other teams will defend us. If we truly have one more run in us, DA has to pull the trigger.

Back to wanting Joe fired.

I too love Rondo as a player and have definite emotional attachments.  But I love the name on the Jersey more than I do him.  So if a good move is made I can live with it.

I do not want Chris Paul on my team unless Dwight Howard is also here with him.

You can bet, Ainge isn't torn.

If Rondo was really locked into our future, Perk would have never been dealt.

I am trying not to give it a lot of thought until we have more specifics about what it would take in addition to Rondo.

Remember, the KG deal started out being Jefferson and the #5 pick (and other assets).  Had that deal gone through, it completely changes the complexion of the trade, because you would no longer have had Ray as part of this team.

So, while the most important part of the deal is obviously Rondo for Paul, it is the smaller moving pieces that will determine whether it is a success or not, IMO.
