Kozlo - I see your point.
I do know that in life we all take stands on things. With Tebow, he is certainly no different.
I am sure that to him, his faith is what sustains him..it is what makes him a better person, and strive to be such. His faith has allowed miracles in his life, and I'm sure it's helping him to deal with his own personal struggles, whatever they may be.
With his Faith, comes the price. This "Price" is based off of what his faith stands for. For me and others of faith, this comes with the territory, so to speak.
So a question I have is: Do we want our athletes to be quiet about their faith? Do their "sometimes outspoken" views coincide or clash with others?
Or - do we suppress these same outspoken feelings about our faith - even if we NEED this prayer and faith and mindset to get us through our jobs, as some soldiers do here in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9WXUlERHKcSo...for the soldiers in the video that were praying - this is "technically" a "separating of Church and State" issue, right?
These soldiers shouldn't pray - because they wear the uniform of the United States Military? Or - do they pray....simply because they want God to get them through their own struggles and to keep them and their squadmates alive?
Everyone of us takes a stand at one point or another in our lives. Tim Tebow, is no different. Whether that "stand" is in line with other's beliefs or worldview is the key - in that whether or not someone believes as you do - there is respect for one another at the end of the day.
For ctrey - I thought that I had answered you before in the thread, in that with your scenario that Muslim QB would get the same treatment as Tebow - as long as he had DEN in the same spot as Tebow does.
I think your mindset, if I'm not mistaken, is that those of the Muslim faith are not tolerated in this country. I can agree with that mindset a few years ago. However, I see this country as being more tolerant of others than before.
But if you believe like you do, then I respect your thoughts. But I just don't agree with it.
