Well, now that there is a tentative agreement to starting the season, do we move forward with the Dec 1 cut-down date, or go with something more in-line with the NBA's own deadline (probably after training camps open on Dec 9)?

Dec 1st is fine with me now that we know there will be a season.

It seems to me that if the season is supposed to start on Dec 25 that a cut down date closer to that (say perhaps Dec 15) would be more in line with the timing we usually employ -- ie after the FA period so we have a little better sense of who will play where.

I believe the points league cut down in the 15th. EOD Friday the 16th or EOD Monday the 19th would work.

I set the poll up while the threat of a lost season loomed large, as I felt we needed to set some sort of arbitrary deadline for roster upload to Yahoo.

Since we now have a resolution to the lockout, I'm going to go ahead and set December 15 as the day for cuts, as this seems more in line with the NBA's own calendar.

Assuming there are no strong feelings against this, of course. Feel free to sound off here.

I wouldn't support this.  I think all of our current GMs have been proven to be active over time, and I don't want to punish them for a missed deadline.

Fingers crossed. I tend to agree, although I'd be fine with replacing anyone who skipped the draft and now misses the cut down deadline.

I was thinking that I might solicit opinions from the rest of the league in the event that I am forced to make some difficult decisions.

Anyone who misses the deadline will certainly go into the season with a strike against him. And with a compressed season, I think two strikes is grounds for replacement.

I think this fair, in a shortened season we should expect a certain amount of participation.

I think the 15th is the most logical cut down day for everyone to get a feel of how fringe players production might be.
