Depends on whether we have a season too or not.  If KG and RA are gone because there was no season we are done as a ChampionshiP team unless a rapid reload and that is not likely.

Gortat would be great but it's going to take assets to get him.  He is a solid player.

as long as its not a bad contract. wait that amnesty thing there offering, can you use that on a player you get in trade? if so then i would literally trade Davis for anyone and a second round pick.

It's going to be interesting whether the C's are even allowed to sign and trade Davis, because currently, they would likely be over the Luxury tax (depending on how they calculate it), and under the NBA's proposed deal, they may not be able to do sign and trades, as a team over the tax line.

If they can however, I just would not expect much value in return.  Davis is going to be a less than MLE type player, therefore, every team in the league will likely have a chance to sign him without giving up anything.  They could still work out a sign and trade for him, but it won't be for anyone that another team is not pretty much planning on letting walk anyways.

Sorry, didn't even notice that I put Brook instead of Robin.

Don't the Suns run and gun? Or did that leave with D'Antoni? Wouldn't Baby be good in that?

They get rid of Robin Lopez's contract, we get rid of Baby. We need a 7 footer, they can use some experience after Nash leaves (and a high energy guy).

Baby would not be good in the run and gun.  But that's irrelevant anyways, its just a matter of whether there is value in a trade like that...which there isn't for them.  They are not trying to get rid of Lopez's contract.  He is a quality player on a reasonable, rookie deal.

Phoenix have a pretty solid power forward rotation already in place with Channing Frye and Markieff Morris. Plus, Hakim Warrick as a third string PF.

I would be surprised if they had any interest in Glen Davis. He is not an upgrade over their current options and is a poor fit for their system.

BBD, Avery Bradley and Clippers pick for Lopez and Warrick?
Phoenix loses Warricks 4 year contract and adds a PF that wants to run and shoot, plus a defensive PG/SG to run with Aaron Brooks and a nice pick

Not saying Jujuan Johnson can't be great, but a little insurance behind him with Warrick wouldn't hurt, plus he would finish every alley oop from Rondo/West

Can't stop, Rondo!

I would do a Davis for Robin Lopez trade.

Then, use the MLE to sign a FA PF to replace Davis.

I think it will be harder to find a useful C with the MLE then PF.

But, isn't Davis a FA?  Will a sign and trade even be possible?

The problem is, there is no way Phoenix would do that trade, unless we were throwing in at least a first rounder.  Robin may not be her sister Brook, but she is still a very good, young, 7 footer. They are not going to trade her for a guy like Davis...who they could just sign if they really wanted him.

Laughed my A off. Funny stuff tp.

I think you're right too. Robin would require more then just BBD

I would want to get an above average starter from that Clippers pick since it's likely a low lottery pick (#10-#14). I think that is the level of talent the Celtics should be trying to acquire through that pick ... either through the draft or using it in a trade to get an established veteran or a young player who can grow into that role.

I guess it depends on whether you think Robin Lopez has that type of potential. I think he has been too inconsistent over his first three years to warrant that type of a package. So I wouldn't be willing to give up the Clippers pick for R.Lopez.

you would only be taking the player in trade because someone who has multiple players they want to use the amnesty on is giving you something else (maybe a pick or 2) to take the contract on so you can use amnesty on him and they can still use it on there other player.

No-one will use a possible amnesty clause on player(s) that add up to the salary that Glenn Davis will command on his next contract. That still doesn't make any sense.
