Quick, everyone grab Darrius Heyward-Bey if he's available!

I have my doubts, Palmer hasn't had a good season in years.

Quick, everyone drop Heyward-Bey and pickup Victor Cruz!

Same here. Like I mentioned in the NFL thread, I think the Bengals just got a sweet deal here.

I kind of agree with this. Plus what happens when Campbell comes back? I guess Terrell Pryor has a ways to go

I don't think there is any doubt he's an upgrade over the poo-poo platter they had there in Campbell, Boller, and Pryor.

They're 4-2 now, with the rest of the squad really showing promise. There is always the chance this could backfire, but there is also the chance this could put them into the top 2 or 3 in a pretty flawed AFC. Still a pretty wide open race there, and this could be a difference maker.

Of course it could also backfire. But there's the turn-on, right??? Al Davis just smirked knowingly from....wherever he is.

I think I would have taken my chances with Boller for the next six - eight weeks; there are a couple tough opponents in there (Chargers, Bears) but they'd be tough with or without Palmer. The rest of the schedule looks pretty easy (KC, Denver, Miami, Minny, plus a bye week).
Celtics fan for life.

I guess it depends on your definition of good.  I mean I consider nearly 4000 yards on just under 62% a good season, but hey what do I know.  Last year he was 6th in yards, 4th in completions & attempts, 9th in TD's, and 3rd in INTs (though Brees was 2nd).  Certainly not an elite season, but certainly not a bad season either.

Yeah but if you take your chances and you lose some of those easy games, then you let the playoffs get away from you and it isn't like they could make the trade later.  The deadline is today.

And Garrard has a herniated disc requiring surgery so it isn't like there are any free agent options out there worth anything.

At 4-2 you make that trade every time and go for the playoffs (which will only make the 2012 first rounder a worse pick).  At 2-4 you just give it to Boller until Pryor is ready (if at all).

Considering all the losing Palmer did I see Andy Dalton as their best guy in years. Kinda like how Tebow is better than Orton.....for now

Campbell's contract is up at the end of the year.
