All players who don't appear on a roster will hit the waiver wire for 48 hours after roster uploads (on Friday, I hope).

Thoughts on cutting down the initial waiver period to 24 hours? Or at least clarify how we'll handle early F.A. releases?

As I recall, last season, waivers were processed after 48, but any player without a waiver claim was dumped into free agency 24 hours early.

Yeah, last year was a mess, as I recall.  I don't know what tools Lucky has at his disposal, but avoiding of a similar problem would be fantastic.

I want an initial extended waiver period, to allow people extra time to submit claims, since the roster upload occurs the week before the Xmas break, when I suspect people will have other things to take care of.

I'll look right now to see whether initial waivers and the first players released to make room for players off the waiver wire can sync up.

2 day waiver period. After draft, all unclaimed players hit waivers.

I have also allowed trading of draft picks, limited us to 2 acquisitions per week, and changed trades from commissioner veto to league veto.

The two acquisitions per week...  was this discussed?  I honestly can't remember, but I thought most folks just preferred a cap on moves during the season as a whole, rather than on a weekly basis.

As for the playoffs, I think most people just preferred the status quo of one transaction per week.

I thought this was discussed. We talked about an average of 2/week.

I can set it back to 40-50 moves, but then that opens up the possibility of gaming weekly matchups during the first half of the season.

I will change settings to 1/week when we hit playoffs.

I totally could have overlooked it.  However, the problem I see with a two move limit per week is a circumstance like the trade deadline.  Let's say a team pulls off two trades that week, which left them below 16 players.  They'd already be at their two transaction limit, I believe, and therefore couldn't pick up guys off waivers.

I don't like cycling, period, but it's much less of a concern to me during the regular season.  I actually kind of enjoy seeing WW and MK doing 30+ moves per season, working the waiver wire for talent.

I've been arguing for two moves per week in the postseason since it was abruptly changed in a backroom deal between Roy and the commissioner last summer. I don't recall it ever being brought up for the regular season. But you're the commissioner and I trust your judgement. Still my own order or preference:

1) 50 moves per week regular season, two moves per week post-season
2) Two moves per week regular season and post-season
3) 50 moves per week regular season, one move per week post-season
4) Two moves per week regular season, one move per week post-season - I'll kill myself just after the rosters are uploaded.

Once the season starts, I think I'll ride it out with the 16 players that are on my roster that day (barring injuries or trades).

Well, the post-season one issue been decided, I think.  It's just the regular season.

I'm fine with either way, I just wasn't aware of it being discussed.  However, if Wiggle is against 2 moves per week during the season, perhaps I should loudly endorse it?

Webskins are cutting Derrick Brown and James Posey.

I might be behind, but that takes him to 17, no?

It's the 50 moves club Roy, and we'll never let you in.

To each his own, but I don't recommend this. A team can make a lot of strides through waiver pick ups alone. Kwame Brown, Glen Davis, Chuck Hayes, Gerald Henderson, Kris Humphries, Serge Ibaka, Jodie Meeks, Patrick Patterson, Ricky Rubio, Marcus Thornton, etc.

OK, I'll move it back to 50 during regular season. People weren't cycling during the regular season last year, so it's probably not an issue.

Are people good with a one-day review period for trades with a league veto process?

I think you're behind. I have him at 16. Who's the 17th that you have?

I wasn't around when the right to veto a trade resided with the league. How was the previous experience? How many Dan Gilberts do we have here? ;)
